Individual Seller Being Charged Monthly Business Fees

I’m new to selling on Amazon and have set up an individual user account until I know the ropes and have proved to myself that all is viable.

I haven’t listed any products yet.

But Amazon is charging me £35 a month!

Anyone else experienced this?

How did you fix it?

I’ve raised a case, but all the replies just mention that my seller account shows I’m an individual user and there are no invoices showing the charges - all of which I know - that’s the annoying thing - there’s no record of these charges on my account, yet regular as clockwork, I’m getting Amazon Seller entries crop up on my monthly credit card statements…

Any thoughts?

Thanks (o:

You may be an individual seller as your identity, but you must have signed up for the Professional type of account otherwise you wouldn’t be charged.

You can’t do that

You have apparently opened an Individual account but opted for the Professional selling plan which is the default option for new sellers. There are two types of account and two selling plans. Confusingly, there is both an individual account and an individual plan

If you are buying (or making) goods to sell, you must have a business account on Amazon. The individual account is only for people selling off their own possessions (unwanted books, CDs etc). You may therefore have to change your account type

There arre two selling plans : Individual where you pay a small fixed charge on each sale, plus a % commission, and Professional where you pay a monthly subscription instead of the fixed charge but still the same % commission. With a business account, you can choose either selling plan but it’s not worth going for the Pro plan unless/until you sell at least 34 items a month on average. That is the point at which the monthly fee is less than the 34+ fixed charges

You can downgrade from Pro to Individual. On your seller page, go to Settings - Account info - Your services and Manage to change your selling plan which will stop any further monthly subs being taken. When your account is fully verified (which may take some months) contact Seller Support and ask for a refund of the fees you have already paid. This is at Amazon’s discretion but is usually granted if you haven’t sold anything while you were on the Pro plan

You’re a genius.

I logged into Amazon and there it all was.

I downgraded.

There must have been a check box on the UK site that I inadvertently clicked, else was checked by default.

Thanks again!

It would be great to get a refund, but really I’m just glad to see the back of any more charges!
