A customer has opened 2 return requests for one purchase
In 12 years of experience, this is the first time I face this issue.
Yesterday a customer has opened a return request for a book purchased in December, because “no longer needed”.
The authorization was automatic and I sent my instructions.
Today the same customer has opened a second request of return, with the comment:
“Royal mail didn’t collect on 28th so cancelled and going to ke to the post office instead to return ta”.
I’m not sure if it’s better to ask the customer to cancel one request now, or just wait for the return, refund, close one and ask to cancel the second, or try to close the second. Any idea?

We get this a lot - customers often open 3 or 4 until they find a reason that gives them a free label, this does not affect your acccount, and customer will only get 1 refund, so nothing to actually worry about to be honest.

Was only checking because the system allows double refunds, wasn’t at all suggesting you were stupid

Sure, no problem. I was concerned for that eventuality and I have would have never refunded twice. If a refund had remained open, I would have left it open.
