Why is it so hard to list items!
Ive been listing on three ebay accounts since 2004, thought id give amazon a try as I’m told i am missing out on sales, I’m not sure listing is a nightmare.
Amazon guru needed ASAP, ive listed two items i think!

If i list a watch that another seller has, i piggyback from the listing! very odd.

To list a new item i need a UPC code? how? where from? GS1 looks to be the answer, seems odd paying GS1 for barcodes to list items when im posting them myself and not using FBA

You should only attach your offers against product pages, where the item you are selling 100% matches the description in every detail.
When creating new listings on Amazon, you need to provide a valid product identifier such as EAN, UPC, JAN or ISBN code, unless you were granted an exemption.
Normally, you will search the Amazon catalogue after inserting the product’s identifier to find an existing ASIN/listing, where you can then attach your offeror create a new listing.
If the product doesn’t have a barcode, you will either need to purchase one from GS1 or request an exemption for the particular category.
Sellers with the Individual Selling Plan are unable to set their own shipping costs. You will need to upgrade into a Professional account.

Listing on Amazon is totally different from ebay, and Kika has really answered your 3 main comments - you need to forget about what you do on ebay !

Excellent cheers, thanks for the info it looks hard work to be honest and the hype online of more sales looks to be suspect

They (eBay) do at the moment - but they are considering single EPID pages - one listing page per Ebay Product ID (EPID) with multiple seller offers… similar to Amazon and other platforms… but its been put on hold - so I am told by the eBay Concierge Specialist who I spoke to earlier this week.
