Sorry, this product is ineligible for Amazon Marketplace selling at this time

We design and manufacture products that we sell on Amazon. We use the free Amazon account as the volume of sales is not high enough to justify the monthly fee. Paying the monthly fee enables inventory loading from a file. This is important, see later.

I have successfully listed my products on Amazon UK. When I try to list my products on Amazon.de or any other European marketplace I get the error message in the title, product ineligible for selling at this time. I have searched but I cannot find any help on this error message. Does anyone have a definitive list of the reasons that this error message appears please?

When I create a new product on Amazon.de I use the same EAN and SKU. Amazon.de picks up that this product already exists on Amazon.UK. Does anyone know if this is evidence that the DE item is linked to the UK item?

I have to create the same product in all markets because it does not exist in the Amazon database. This is not a surprise because I design and build the products. Does anyone know if this is the right thing to be doing, creating the same part in every marketplace with the same EAN and SKU?

Amazon have an EOI tool. This allows you to export the inventory from one marketplace and import it to another. This would be great but you can’t do this if you don’t pay the monthly fee.

Has anyone seen a set of instruction for migrating products from one marketplace to another without the use of features that are only available to those that pay the monthly fee?

One final thought, I get almost no value out of the monthly fee. Has anyone signed up for the monthly fee and then cancelled after a day or so. That is all I would need to export my products from one marketplace and import them to another. I bet Amazon force you to sign up for at least a month.

Firstly, where did you purchase the product identifiers for your items?

Secondly, Amazon will link your listings from the source marketplace and you will need to place your offers on the same ASINs as in the UK.

For one month you would get value, as you would be able to migrate your listings as you wish, however even if you complete this task in one or two days you would still be required to pay the whole of the monthly fee.
Don’t forget that each sale during that month would otherwise incur the per item fee of 75p plus VAT, but for the duration of the Pro status there would be no such fee, just the monthly charge.[and usual other selling fees]

Thanks Kika. You didn’t answer my question exactly but you gave me a clue.
If I add a product on Amazon.DE and identify it using the ASIN then it adds correctly. If I try to identify it using the EAN code then I get the error message “Sorry, this product is ineligible for Amazon Marketplace selling at this time .”
This seems like it may be a bug at your end. I am guessing that your system cannot identify the product using the EAN code so it comes up with the unhelpful “Sorry, this product is ineligible for Amazon Marketplace selling at this time.” The error message should be something more useful such as “EAN not found”.

Sorry Kika, I didn’t realise you weren’t from Amazon.

Magical_Planet - You have to guess what the Amazon system is doing. They don’t tell you and their error messages don’t help. Out of the options the Amazon system provides you, you have to guess which one of the options is causing a problem.
