Amazon Refuses to Detail extra 'other' account charges
Recently, for the first time in 8 years our account has gone into a negative balance.
We've noticed huge 'other' charges being taken out of our account with no detail or explanation.
We asked amazon for clarification on what these charges were, but they said due to confidentiality they could not say?
Hello from Amazon Brand Registry Support,
We understand you are having questions with the unrecognized charges applied to your account from 27/03/2025 to 10/04/2025, and 24/04/2025.
Upon review, the Amazon Fees Total: -£249.35

- Promotions or discounts applied after the order was placed
- Customer returns or claims processed after the order was completed

Hi @Seller_PU1yxhYzMAOnt, sorry for the delayed reply. Just wanted to help clarify the charges you're seeing.
The "Other" charges you mentioned—£215.13 and £400.41—were due to Order Adjustments, which typically result from things like:
- Customer refunds (for issues like late delivery or damaged items)
- Shipping fee corrections
- Post-order promotions or discounts
- Customer returns or claims
- Amazon-initiated adjustments due to fulfillment/order issues
For the settlement period 27/03/2025 to 10/04/2025, here’s a breakdown of the total charges (£437.95):
- Digital Services Fee: £7.54 (2% of referral fees + 20% VAT for UK)
- Subscription Fees: £30.00
- Other: £400.41 — this includes per-unit commission fees and FBA fulfillment fees, plus 20% Marketplace Tax
For the 24/04/2025 - 08/05/2025 cycle, the previously stated £215.13 "Other" charge was updated to £222.64 at cycle close, and this also includes similar commission, FBA, and tax components.
The lack of order-level detail is due to Amazon’s confidentiality policy, but they did confirm the fees stem from legitimate fulfillment and commission-related adjustments.
Hope that clears things up a bit! Ezra.
