Any experience with using Amazon prep service?
Hi fellow Amazon sellers,
I just wanted to gather some information if it’s worth it to use Amazon prep service.
Specifically does anybody have experience on how long usually takes them to receive, prep and label items, are items often lost or not received in correct number and is it easy to get reimbursed for this lost items?
I’m currently shipping around 6k units a month, using only Amazon FBA and wanted to potentially ship around 2-3k units to Amazon so they prep it so any advice/input is much appreciated.

Personally, I wouldn’t use the service as I think it’s far too expensive for what it is.
I send in about 10k-12k units every month and do them myself.
Or to put it another way, just to get them to do your excess each month, say 2000 units, just to label, that’s going to cost you £300, which is straight off your bottom line.
If you want them to prep as well, that’s a fair bit more, as I think it’s 25p per unit (Without checking).
So consider it properly, before you do use the service.
It will delay things going on sale anyway, whilst they prep them, so why not just use that delay, to do it yourself and have that £300 in your pocket?
Maybe look at commingling as that is a big timesaver.

I only use prep when it’s either very simple stuff (so a whole box of 200 the same) or things I really don’t have time to bubble wrap but I’ve generally found it’s OK and pretty quick to get out on sale. The costs can add up though so be careful of that but it’s useful sometimes when I have big deliveries to just send a few boxes there quickly
