Handmade API info about customisation fields

Hi,
We have just started with Handmade UK and want to use the Amazon MWS API to get the order data. We can get all the data we need about the order except the personalised customisations. When we make a call to the API we don’t get any of these details.

Does anyone have any experience of how we might get details of an orders customisation fields please?

I understand that the details may be on the packing slip available for download but when we have hundreds of orders this will not be practical to use. Maybe we can access the packing slip via the API?
Again, any solution would be great as without this I don’t think we’ll be able to sell on Handmade.

I’ll share the results on this thread if we get anywhere in the meantime as I think many other sellers would like the ability.

Lydia here from Handmade Seller Support.

While I can’t advise/comment on third-party software (perhaps others sellers can advise on that) , I can advise on the features of Seller Central.

Sellers can edit their ‘order reports’ to include a column for ‘customization info’ to be included.
This can be done via your Seller Central > orders > orders reports > see Add or remove order report columns under Optional columns click on ‘Customization info’ to include this detail in your report.

Thanks for coming back to us about this, I really appreciate the help. Yes, you are right about the ‘customisation info’ being included in the order reports. However when we did this, the data didn’t appear in any of the api requests we did. It looks like the information is just in the order report.

Does anyone know how to get customisation info for an order from an API call? I just need the API end point to call and should be able to handle the rest. As always, we’d be happy to share the information with the forum.

Any help would be much appreciated as we’d like to add our products to Amazon Handmade but can’t do that until we can access the customisation data via the API.

Lydia here again from Handmade Seller Support.

I have since had an update from my end and need to report that as API is not designed to work with handmade personalization and so you may not find a solution to that end of it. As I understand it, the field is not included in any XSD’s format.

In regarding accessing the packing slip via the API, you would need to contact the API provider on this one as Seller Support can not help with this side of it.

Of course, there may be other sellers out there that can advise on same… and so feel free, any sellers, who might be able to help Bob out here.

Sellers can edit their ‘order reports’ to include a column for ‘customization info’ to be included.
