Adding a product with variations AND GTIN exemption

Hey guys! I was wondering, is it possible to add a product with variations (size & color) with a GTIN exemption? I ask this question because whenever I select that I do have variations when adding my product, the "External Product ID" form disappears and makes me add a product ID on to every variation that I have.

I am attempting to sell a product with two variations but I want to avoid purchasing the UPC codes, since I would have to purchase ten and my brand is a private label, which I believe could be exempt to having these UPC codes. How can I get around this matter?

Thank you!

Yes, you can do this. We have a GTIN exemption for a brand, and I create SizeColor variations for it via a flat file upload. Since we have an exemption, I just leave the Product ID fields blank when creating the listing, and if I need to do any changes to the group in a later upload, I will use their ASIN for the product ID.

Hey there @Seller_A4wDLUCkwWvwW- thanks for starting this conversation here on forums! It looks like the other seller in the thread got you pointed in the right direction already, but feel free to tag me in the comments here if there's anything else I can help address!

Feeds do help information flow through the Amazon ecosystem more smoothly, so I do hope this solution works for you!

Best,

Danny
