Does anyone know how amazon choose which sellers picture to use?
Hi,
does anyone know how amazon choose which sellers picture to use on a listing?
reason I ask is because its becoming annoying that a seller keeps piggybacking our listings which I have no issue with as they are selling the same product but whenever they jump on, the listing changes to their picture which is not as nice and therefore slows sales down.
thanks in advance.

Usually the one that’s more pleasing to the algorithms than the eye.

It is whomever has listing control. the algorithm for that is not disclosed but probably relates to a favourable balance of seller performance, sales velocity and returns rates etc.
It isn’t absolute however.

Amazon considers data from multiple sellers and decides whose to apply and reflect on each listing based on their performance history, returns and refunds rate.
You not having the listing control indicates that your submissions aren’t considered to be relevant.

Usually with us it’s the one that does not conform to Amazons perameters in the slightest

They have deleted my 10 listing, I don’t know what they are up to, all my items are branded

At a tangent, who owns the images you upload?

I have had this issue several times, including where the product description and photograph have been changed completely. When you complain and ask for reinstatement you are dealing with a bot! You have to go back probably around 3 times and get a real person to deal with it, then you tend to get a better response.
Good luck
