Denial Of Receipt Letter

Hi All

I am sure this has been asked before, but I cannot find anything…

Courier leaves parcel outside by pot
Photo image states the same
GPS tracking show the address

Buyer claims it is not there

Courier wants a denial letter signed by the buyer before they will compensate me.

Buyer said he hasn’t had the item and wants a refund without signing it

Q…what is the suggested route to go down with him?

Thanks all

Richard

If you have tracking then you can defend an A-Z if it is raised. Though there is always a risk.

Assuming you have tracking, personally I would reiterate to buyer that despite evidence that delivery was completed you have no issue in providing a full refund on signing of the letter. See what his response is.

If the courier left it without authorisation then it has not been delivered. Most couriers will not do this without someone accepting responsibility for leaving it. The buyer could very well be trying it on but in reality if they did not authorise the parcel to be left without a signature then they are not responsible.

The courier contract is with you, if they buyer wants to be difficult why should they sign anything extra? It is your responsibility to get the goods to them.

Without a signature POD you’ll have trouble defending and will need to claim from your courier. They may and try to fob you off with letters needing signing but the mistake is theirs. (assuming no authorisation was given).
