Sales required to get the buy box
I am the only seller of my product, a book, so it is frustrating that it doesn’t have a buy box. I have done what I am supposed to do, namely, upgraded to a Professional seller plan (not FBA though).
I have asked Seller Support, and the two other factors are: account health and volume of sales. My account is rated as healthy, so that leaves sales volume. Is there are number of sales that is typical before the add to basket will appear?

Even Amazon themselves are never clear on Buy Box eligibility - lots of factors influence their algorithm.
I think there is a page somewhere that gives some info, but for the life of me cannot find it !

Hello @Toolbox_Trading,
I will attach a link to our help pages, Become Buy Box eligible, but as it is noted on this thread, I will highlight an important piece of text,
Note: Becoming eligible to win the Buy Box doesn’t guarantee that you will win it
That said, I will quote the following text which can also be found on the link I have attached,
If you are a Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) seller, your FBA new offers are automatically eligible to win the Buy Box.
Hope this helps and thank you @Smiley_Guy for the links!

Sorry, a lot of things on Amazon are not logical. I am branded supplier and have many lines that get the BB automatically but I do get the odd few that I sell very little on and they don’t get a buy box, get no sales and I cannot give you ant rhyme or reason for it.
Do you have the option to contribute to the listing? If so maybe improving the listing with keywords, bullet points etc may help it to get better exposure. Getting better exposure will improve the rank and thus this will give it a better chance of providing an actual by box that you can then win.
