Why do they make me ship to farthest FBA warehouse?

I have the Inbound Settings set to "min Shipment Splits" and chose WEST. I am located in Nevada.

When Im creating shipments, they are making me ship to warehouses located in NJ and TX!

Isn't this setting supposed to send the shipments to a warehouse in the WEST of the country???

Hi @Seller_Vd3fzE8t2WKbN,

This is your preferred region, not the region that will always be chosen. This can be dependent on a number of factors.

They wont let me choose "Amazon optimised" so that I can ship to multiple FCs all over the place to minimize the Placement fees...and when I choose the only option (Minimal Ship splits", they make me ship to FC that is located farthest away from me>? Does that make ANY sense?

Hi @Seller_Vd3fzE8t2WKbN,

You are able to choose Amazon split shipments if you qualify and avoid the fee entirely. So that is why the Amazon optimized shipment choice is not available, you must qualify for that.

But my shipments never qualify to split shipments or optimized shipments. They only qualify for this "Minimal shipments". Whatever the reason is, I would be ok if they ship to a west coast FC instead of NJ that is 3000 miles away from me. That is the farthest warehouse you can think of. Why would Amazon do that?

Hi @Seller_Vd3fzE8t2WKbN,

Inbound placement options will be provided when your shipments qualify. Factors that affect the number of inbound options include the following:

- Whether your shipment includes a mix of standard-size items, non-standard-size items, or special handling categories

- Whether each box contains the same mix and quantities of SKUs

- Quantities and number of boxes for each item

- Geographical demand

To maximize the number of inbound options, try the following:

- Create separate shipments for standard-size items, non-standard-size items, and each special handling category

- Ensure that the item mix and item quantities are equal across all boxes

- Increase the number of boxes

Best,

Dominic

You are just copy/pasting all the same stuff I have already read. Everything you are posting are already posted in Amzon Help pages. My shipments consist of high priced, many SKUs and very few qty of each SKU.

My question is that Amazon should let me do one or the other:

1) Let me ship to 20 FCs and dont charge me placement fees OR

2) Let me ship to one close(est) FC and charge me to place the items.

Currently, you are telling me to ship to few FCs and you will charge me to place them which is fine BUT those 2 warehouses are in TX and NJ! Why are you telling me to do worst of both worlds: Ship to a FC that is 3000 miles away AND charge me to place???

"Limit multiple destinations via the Inventory Placement Service

To minimize the number of destinations for your shipment, you can sign up for the Inventory Placement Service. This service allows you to send all of your eligible inventory to a single receive center or fulfillment center. When the shipment arrives, it is divided and sent to different fulfillment centers. A per-item service fee applies."

Above is from Amazon help pages. So Why are they making me ship to more than 1 FC? Amazon's own help section page clearly states that I will have to ship to ONE warehouse.

Hi @Seller_Vd3fzE8t2WKbN,

I understand what you are asking, unfortunately I cannot provide a solution to this specific example outside of what I have already shared. The "Inventory Placement Service" you referenced in your second reply is no longer available to use. This has been depreciated.

Hi @Seller_Vd3fzE8t2WKbN,

The help page does state this at the top of the page. I have added a screenshot of this below:
