Business Insurance for Single Member LLC
I submitted the commercial liability insurance and it was not accepted because "the insured name mentioned on your insurance policy does not match the legal entity name you provided to Amazon." The Insurance company requires that the LLC be listed as the insured. In the Tax Identity section on Amazon, it requires single member LLC's to use their actual name and not the LLC, which then in turn becomes the name listed as the legal entity. When uploading the business insurance, the name of Insured must match the legal entity name. Single member LLC's are consider a disregarded entity, however for insurance purposes, the insurance companies require it be listed as the insured. In the Amazon rules for Insurance it states: "Except for single-member LLCs, your insured name must match the “legal entity” name you provided to Amazon in your Account Info. For single member LLCs, where your legal entity name is different than the name you publicly use to identify your business (“trade name,” “doing business as,” or “DBA”), it is also acceptable for your insured name to match your trade name" So I am still unsure how to get the insurance uploaded successfully after opening up a case. Can I please get some assistance in this matter? Thank you.
