Saturday delivery?

Hi,

I am not a prime seller, however i do offer next day delivery for orders placed before 1pm.

I use DPD next day which only appears to count working days and not weekends, so anything dispatched Friday will be delivered Monday.

I have recently gotten a few customers send very snotty messages to me (and now leaving 1 star feedback) as their parcels are not being received on a Saturday. Does Amazon treat Saturday as a regular working day? Is there any way in shipping settings where this can be changed? I'm quite disappointed by this as I have never considered Saturday to be a regular day for postage and i do NOT want to offer next day delivery on Fridays because as i'm sure most are aware, a Saturday delivery generally is around 50-60% more expensive.

This feels like a bit of a rock and a hard place situation.

Any help is appreciated on this one.

Thanks.

We are in the same situation as yourself.

DPD is not viable for Saturday delivery, but some deliveries that were shipped Friday do get delivered on Saturday depending on Post Code.

What we tend to do is any orders that would usually go out Friday DPD, we send RM Tracked 24 instead, as they tend to get delivered Saturday.

RM are also delivering Sunday at no extra charge, so are Saturday collections are now getting delivered on Sunday to most post codes.

As an aside, DPD have provisionally put our EXP 1 prices up by 75% after agreeing a new deal only weeks before. While it is never advisable to place all your eggs in the RM basket, DPD are in danger of outpricing themselves

amazon simply does not care, you simply have to turn of next day delivery.

just because they deliver on Saturday they think everyone delivers on Saturday. its simply not worth the hassle and is one of many ways amazon keeps you under their thumb making amazon look good at not cost to them
