Product Images Problem

Can anyone offer advice on product images please? We are finding it difficult to produce an image on a pure white background as required by Amazon. Even though the products are photographed on a white background, the end result shows a blue/grey background. Is this a problem that needs Photoshop or similar? Any advice would be most appreciated.

You should definitely use some kind of software to edit your product photos. In order to make your images comply with Amazon guidelines, you will need to have pure white background and this can be only achieved by additional editing.

I would suggest you to either use Photoshop or Bonanza Background burner - this is a very effective tool which automatically edits your images in seconds. If you are using an iPad or iPhone, then try the “MagicEraser” app. I am using this app to edit all my Amazon product images.

You will find that thousands of images on Amazon do not have a pure white background. Personally I think that you are worrying unduly. I have uploaded hundreds of images which have a grey background. In point of fact, pure white backgrounds are not always desirable. If, as in my case, I am photographing white pages against a white background, it becomes impossible to distinguish where the pages end and the background begins. My personal advice is not to worry too much over the background. You should be okay if your photo is clear and prominent.

Hi

Some suggestions for you. Take the photographs outside if you can less shadow or you can purchase adobe elements which is very good for editing photographs its sold on Amazon for around £52.99. Also changing the settings on your camera to florescent lighting when taking photographs. Watched s few videos on youtube how you can also reflect the light using simple methods. If you need to go a stage further you can make your own light box using a cardboard box and tissue paper like one on the youtube video.

Also when taking photographs always take pictures using the highest resolution. I am no expert just things you pick up on the job.

Hope this helps…
