No Sales in the Evening?
This is an odd question I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced it. For reference we sell soft furnishings - cushions, curtains etc.
We’ve been active for 3 or so so years and until March, it used to be that between the times of 7.30pm and midnight, we would easily double our days earnings (probably when customers would be back from work/put kids to bed and were relaxing with some online shopping).
However, since then, it’s as if Amazon have begun suppressing our listings from 6pm onwards. Maybe the odd sale but that’s it. Our sales are fine during the day (for example it’s 9am and we’ve had 5 so far) but come the evening and it goes dead suddenly.
It’s not our holiday settings. I’ve asked Amazon who report no technical errors. The only other reason I guess would be that the weather is causing people to do other things than shop. Anyone else seen this? I just want to rule out any technical reasons I may be missing.

Maybe it’s the better weather and lighter evenings making people spend less time on their phones.
I know I do less online shopping in the spring/summer time compared to winter.

You are lucky , at least your sales are good during working hours - mine are poor all the time on Amazon but strong on Ebay.

Personally, we have seen a massive decline in Amazon Orders since around Feb/March, which of course there have been a lot of discussions about on the forums, with many different theories, from last week we have actually started seeing an increase again, this has been our best week in a long time!

Have you compared your sales over similar periods on previous years?
And it may also be worthwhile considering the weather - it has been very dry recently where I am, so maybe compare not just to the same time last year, but when the weather is also similar

I think most of us experience peaks and troughs (hopefully more of the former than the latter) but it’s a well documented phenomenon…good weather = not so good sales of most things. Expect sales to drop during the World Cup…unless you’re selling Nigeria shirts

Hi, yes I’ve definitely noticed this trend too. Mornings are as busy as previous years but evenings much quieter than previous years.
I’ve also noticed the same as Salty, my busiest week since Xmas was last week too.

I’m finding amazon as random as random gets, One day up the next rock bottom, I mean virtually a fraction of sales all day, the following day can be 30-35 then right down again, it’s shocking at the minute.
I’ve found a couple of days ago evenings were okay then last night sold about 2 all evening, on the other hand other sales channels continue as normal…

We have found this trend also. Up to 18 months ago sales after 7pm would usually double the daily turnover. Now we are a finding a more even spread over morning, afternoon & evening.
I put it down how Buyers order, specifically the device they use. Up to a couple of years ago most people were ordering via their desktop pc or laptop, therefore they would wait until they would get home from work etc, get dinner / kids out of the way and then sit down for a session on the computer.
Now orders are made via mobile devices, tablets & smartphones, so orders can be placed any time any place with no need to wait until later.
