Influencers....Anyone else being spammed?
Is anyone else being spammed with messages from ‘influencers’ wanting products for free in return for reviews?
I’ve just replied to message 4 from one trying to convince me that my sales will soar if I send him a freebie!!

I just mark no response required and report them

Definitely don’t respond to them.
It’s actually against Amazon rules to provide a freebie, for reviews.
I would go so far as to report the message as well.

amp.cheeseburger.com is full of posts of the put downs given to entitled messages from ‘influencers’ by the businesses they are approaching. It is my usual bedtime reading, that and bridezillas!

The only three “influencers” that ever influenced me were Emeline Pankhurst, Alan Turing and David Attenborough. They should be all the influence anybody needs (and they didn’t ask for reviews in return for anything).

cant say I have but certainly heard of others getting plagued by them. I guess its a sign of the times, lockdown has made everyone YouTube expert on all things “get rich quick”

I always understood offering a financial incentive for a product review is a violation of Amazon policy
Misuse of ratings, feedback or reviews:
Any attempt to manipulate ratings, feedback, or reviews is prohibited.
- Ratings and feedback: Ratings and feedback: The rating and feedback features allow buyers to evaluate the overall performance of a seller, helping sellers to develop a reputation within the Amazon Marketplace. You cannot post abusive or inappropriate feedback or include personal information about a transaction partner. This also includes posting ratings or feedback to your own account. You may request feedback from a buyer, but you may not pay or offer any incentive to a buyer for either providing or removing feedback. In addition, it is strictly prohibited to post ratings and feedbacks by spoofing or for commercial purpose.
- Reviews: Reviews are important to the Amazon Marketplace, providing a forum for positive or negative feedback about product and service details and reviewer’s experiences. You should not write reviews for products or services that you have a financial interest in, including reviews for products or services that you or your competitors sell. Additionally, you should not provide compensation for a review (including free or discounted products). Review solicitations that ask for only positive reviews or that offer compensation are prohibited. You should not ask buyers to modify or remove reviews.

i remember seeing a tiktok in the first lockdown where they recommended people message amazon sellers and say that they are an influencer - i’m lucky enough to not sell anything (i only have 10 listings and sell like 1 item every 2 weeks!) of any real value so i’ve never recieved any of these messages.

I suppose its something similar but i had a buyer pay for some items get delivery then message to say " thanks I’m putting these on a battle jacket and will be doing a you tube review- here is the link" no freebie’s asked for at all and paid full price for everything.
Its not going to lead to massive sales boost they only have 853 followers. But still nice i thought.

Yes, lately we are receiving a lot of request! Very annoying!
