Amazon return SCAM
Amazon has accustomed buyers to the idea of choosing a false reason for returning an item, thus providing them with free returns service, which the seller pays for. Amazon's 6% rate, eBay's 1% rate, SCAM.

Amazon has done a lot to foster a safe environment for scammers. Refund on first scan is another big one. As is not being able to block specific buyers to prevent patterns of abuse.

It is not the refund on first scan that is so much the issue to us, though it is a problem.
The bigger problem for us is Amazon deeming goods as Non-Returnable and gifting them to the customer as well as a refund.
If Amazon deem an item as non-returnable, and customer simply changes their mind and wants to return them unused and unopened, Amazon will change the return reason and make it seller fault and then gift the goods and refund just from a customer calling them directly (as there is no return option)
When you point out in appeal that this is a customer issue not seller, Amazon just reply with "we stand by our decision"
And funnily enough, If it is Amazon owned and sold for the same goods, they DO accept returns on these items and arrange return, or simply state to the customer that this is non-returnable and refuse customer claim.
Amazon protect their own stock with an iron fist, but use that same iron fist on 3rd party sellers where the sun don't shine.

As a customer on a couple of occasions, I have tried to return perfectly good items to other sellers but have literally been told that I would just be refunded and could keep the items. In one case I emphatically insisted that I return the item (jeans that didn't fit I think) for my refund, and had to battle and battle just to be given the return information etc. The amazon person just couldn't wrap their head around the idea that I didn't want free stuff from a third party who wasn't even given a say.

Amazon should first contact the seller and and give the option to accept or decline the return
i find it extremely annoying had buyers buy an item and as soon as its delivered file a return saying one of the following
no longer needed / accidental order / dosnt work / wrong item
even had some where the buyer has stated the item has not been delivered tracking photo and gps shows it has need delivered customer agrees it has been delivered but want a refund and amazon just gives the refund no questions asked always the same excuse we can see it has been delivered and you have the proof but we cant prove it has been delivered (erm hello you have seen it has been delivered by the proof of delivery )
i have some customers ask for an exchange of item where they ant a different colour etc amazon don't support the small business and just do instant refund instead
they should give the option to accept the return or not instead of letting all these scammers get away with it
i have noticed 7/10 returns dont even show up as soon as its filed they refund and the item is never sent back

We get a suspiciously high rate of untracked items 'lost in delivery' on Amazon. Some customers must have worked out by now that if an item is untracked, they can have it for free. It's a shame, because it forces us to increase prices for everyone. Or in other words, honest customers are paying for dishonest customers to get free stuff.
