This happened to a number of sellers about 6 months ago https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/seller-forums/discussions/t/d5dae499-d7d3-4e9d-ad08-b1f21a5f62a1

You are lucky you got notice. I woke up one morning to find a lot of products requiring approval. No notice at all.
If you have stock in FBA this would be devastating for many sellers. Having to apply for approval and if not obtained all that stock would need to be removed.

I got that too for second hand items i'm selling. Happens every so often. I just remove them and sell elsewhere.

Same, less than 8 hours notice on a non-working day!
Its good that they want to target authenticity, however it is unfair to generically target sellers that don't have an issue
This is clearly unreasonable and disproportionate for those that have had no or low number of complaints about it, 1-3 months notice would be good, at least then you can get all the documentation together, sell through some stock or remove it, to reduce risk of stranded inventory PLUS no sales until resolved.
If a seller has a higher proportion of authenticity complaints (when compared to peers over a reasonable time) their feedback would reflect it and a short notice period would be fine to get things ironed out.
Amazon is also a competitor in the brands that they are "removing", would be interesting to see if they're selling those products while sellers' are hidden - that would be a broader CMA reportable issue.
Anyhow, rant over, I have contacted them and attempted to escalate, lets see.
Good luck with yours.

I have the same issue on amazon.de. 100+ brands, 100+ active listings require approval from my inventory. It does not make sense. All metrics are perfect and no prior notice. Is there any solution?

Hello @Seller_S5rVtM1zsHPyV,
Thanks for your post. Amazon requires approval to sell in many categories, brands, and products and in some instances restrictions and policies change. While you may have been approved in the past, as the Amazon catalog grows, we continuously make new determinations on which products should be restricted, which is based on a number of factors. Amazon does this to ensure authenticity and customer satisfaction.
Once you apply or re-apply to sell these listings again, and you need assistance with your application, feel free to let me know here! I'll also be able to review any related case IDs with Seller Support that you create for this matter.
Best,
Kris

We were impacted by this last week. Suddenly 'unapproved' for brands with no notice and with the requirement of 100 units on invoices
We have been selling these brands for years without any issues or complaints
Today when we request approval it now says we are approved to sell in New and Used condition for these brands. No request for documentation and we have not provided any. Was there an error by Amazon here? Why there an U-Turn on invoice requirements?
Seller_ROIUuGcfoAKRf
@Seller_d8YGbIjNqwFxnare you saying you are now approved for these brands that already were in your inventory?
Which actions did you take?
Seller_d8YGbIjNqwFxn
Didn't take any action at all. I am now approved again even though I didn't submit any documentation.
Seller_ROIUuGcfoAKRf
@Seller_d8YGbIjNqwFxn For how many brands did you have restrictions? How long did it last?
I still have 96 brands deactivated since 21.03 with 3000 units stored at FBA
Seller_d8YGbIjNqwFxn
It was only 3 brands for me. I was restricted on the 20th and it was released yesterday
With your brands, I would wait a little while and see if you can get approval without invoices again. I have noticed this time and in the past that Amazon put restrictions on and then a few days/weeks later Amazon have lifted the restrictions.
I take it with the number of brands and Units stored that you don't have any invoices showing a combined purchase of 100 units? I think that amount is far too high many small businesses would not buy in that quantity until they are more established.

Hello @Seller_d8YGbIjNqwFxn,
Thanks for sharing your situation with me. I am unable to directly answer this question, or share specifics, without direct insight into your account through a case ID. However, as your issue has since been resolved, it would be unnecessary additional work on your end to open that case ID with this inquiry. Happy to see you were approved!
Best,
Kris

I had this too, but when I clicked on it investigate, it was for a couple of products which are completely irrelevant to me, I've never stocked, sold, or bought, or had anything to do with my entire life so just ignored it!
