FBA Small & Light

Hi all

can i have some advice please from any FBA S&L users

I have been sent an email offering me this and I must say that it looks inviting. For Large Letter size i have been quoted 82p picking/packing/shipping which is obviously less than it costs me to send via RM
Also, the Prime Badge would obviously benefit

I’ve looked through to find the fee calculator but can only see the FBA one - not the S&L so couple of questions -

What other fees are there ? I presume the selling fee (15.3% or 25p which the greater) still applies the same as my FBM fees ?

are there storage fees like with standard FBA and roughly what are they ?

Cost of sending in stock - I’ve seen somewhere on here £3.99 for up to 15kg box with UPS ?!

and the main question !

I have the stock here with me. I take it I apply to sell S&L, I create a shipment and amazon provide me with labels (i’ve seen people talking about FNSKU Labels ?! ) - I want my stock NOT to be comingled ?! (i think that’s right !! )

Do i just print off the new barcode labels that amazon provide and stick them over the barcode on the product - send and sit back and hope - is it really that easy !??

Please go easy on me - i’ve been FBM for over 10 years but know nothing about FBA

thanks !

You first have to enroll your products as S&L here https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/fba/programs/snl/feeds?ref_=asuk_fba_snl_h_enroll&ld=NSGoogle_UA

Make sure the item size and weights are as per the requirements.

Rest of the process is same as standard FBA where you print labels (FNSKU), put on the existing barcodes of the item and this way it won’t commingle.

Amazon referral fees stay the same.

Other conditions are that each ASIN/item must have at least 24 quantity. Storage fees works the same way as general FBA but usually it is far lower as S&L items don’t require much space.

Small and Light has lower costs, but at the same time Small and Light Items get moved to the back of the delivery queue, I have two ASINS on Small and Light and I have struggled to get anywhere near a 7 day delivery, one of them is currently showing a delivery date of 18 January, these are products in a UK fulfilment centre being delivered to a UK address.

At the same time, I seem to be the only one in my searches who has such a ridiculous delivery time. Its averaging about 7 - 10 days, yet other FBA items are on the normal 1 - 2 day prime delivery.

Needless to say this has really hurt my sales as no one will buy something and wait 10 days when they can have a similar product delivered the very same day or day after.

@Jackie1 @russ @BlankName many thanks for all your replies

I have looked into it a bit further and it seems that i place all the same SKUs in a clear bag and add a FNSKU label to the outside of the clear bag.

Another quick question which i can’t find the answer to -

I sell 1 item - the fee is 82p to pick/pack/post - if the customer purchases more than one of the same item is it simply the quantity purchased x 82p or do i get a fee discount () as they are packaged together or as the multi items are now larger than the required size, do i get charged even more ?

hope that makes sense !

If you are selling items that are similar like variations or different colours of the same thing, from my experience I would still label each individual product as, unless @russ has found differently, when I first enrolled I found that the wrong items were sent out a lot.

Other thing not mentioned (I think) - your ASIN needs a certain sales volume level to be enrolled in SNL. If it’s a slow seller you won’t get past the enrolment page.

Quick question. I have sold quite a few items now through fba s&l. I have been keeping an eye on the orders and last night one came through at a lower price. I worked out the difference and realised it was the net price so presumed it was a sale to channel islands however, this morning it has shipped so I was able to check it and its actually been ordered and sent to Switzerland.

Now as the stock is in uk and is fulfilled by amazon, am I going to face any problems such as vat / customs etc. as I thought amazon had suspended fba sales to outside UK at the moment (or am I imagining that?!)
