It would appear that there are no answers to the numerous questions that sellers are asking about GPSR, all of the Amazon text just says what it is, it does not tell you how to do anything about it.
Amazon have a new issue now where information added to a page and saved, is not saved, the entries just disappear, it is on the transparency product entry page, the inventory page for country choice and now on the GPSR responsible person page, you enter details into the page, click 'done' and nothing happens, a page fault.
It seems that the only option for UK sellers into the EU and EU sellers into the EU on Amazon is to just close all their EU sites, Amazon refuse to engage on the responsible person issue or give any guidance on what a responsible person is and how to get the details, also on 3,900 listings this is what it says:
'Add the manufacturer’s name and contact information for brands that you are associated with on Amazon Brand Registry in one of the EU’s official languages.'
I am associated with one brand on Amazon Brand Registry, so what about the hundreds of others.
I have been in business for over 40 years and I never seen such a huge mess as this GPSR and Amazon are making it even more complicated, if the CE mark that GPSR replaces was the responsibility of the manufacturer, how on earth can GPSR be the responsibility of the seller on Amazon?
Amazon will remove 3,900 of my EU listings on the 13th December which is all of them, so I will be left with UK and U.S and I am in the EU, so for UK sellers, what is left of them after Brexit, this will be the nail in the coffin for any EU sales or those to Northern Ireland, which is also included.
I wonder what will happen when Amazon delist all the products that do not have the correct information that cannot be uploaded, I imagine it will half the turnover overnight, I hope they are ready for that.
The only solution to this is that the EU extend the date of the implementation, Amazon have had 2 years to get ready for this and are totally unprepared with no interface and honestly I don't think they even understand how it works.
Agreed pulling out of the EU from 13th December been planning it since June.
The EU market place will have less competition, higher prices and less choice.
In the UK nobody is even talking about it, unbelievable.
