Brand Registry – "Account not eligible" / Abusive Conduct flag blocking seller account from own brands

Hello,

our Seller Central account is unable to connect to our own registered brand(s) as Brand Representative. When attempting to connect via "Manage selling roles", we receive:

"We are unable to proceed with the request due to account eligibility reasons. Your request to add your account to the selected brands is declined, since the merchant account is not eligible for brand registry. We reserve the right to decline requests where we have identified that your account has either been involved in abusive conduct on our website or you are related to an account that was used for such abusive conduct."

Background: Our account was blocked on two EU marketplaces due to a Restricted Products policy violation involving a single legacy listing that no longer met the (since tightened) category criteria. We have since removed all affected listings, completed the required compliance steps, and submitted a Plan of Action addressing root cause, corrective and preventive measures. Our home marketplace account remains active and in good standing, exclusively selling our own branded products.

We submitted an appeal via the "Appeal my eligibility" form but have not received any substantive response yet. Could someone from the Brand Registry team please take a look at this, or advise on the correct escalation path? Happy to share account details privately if that helps.

Thank you very much for any hel

Hello @Seller_zwZMJeuBhHvyW,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Here's what you can do to report this and protect your account:

The “abusive conduct” flag on Brand Registry eligibility is typically triggered when an account has had policy enforcement actions, such as the Restricted Products violation you described. Since you've already submitted an appeal via the “Appeal my eligibility” form, that is the correct path.

A few steps to help move this forward:

  • Ensure your Plan of Action clearly addresses the root cause, immediate corrective actions taken, and long-term preventive measures for the Restricted Products violation.
  • If you haven't already, open a case through Seller Support referencing your Brand Registry eligibility appeal and include your case ID for tracking.
  • Allow the Brand Registry team time to review — appeals involving account-level flags can take longer to process as they require cross-team review.

For reference:

Please share your case ID so we can look into this further for you.

Hi Angie, thank you for your reply! Here is our most recent case ID: 21783643811 (submitted Aug 28, currently 'in progress'). It includes updated information that our previously blocked selling accounts on Amazon.it and Amazon.co.uk have since been fully reactivated, which we believe directly resolves the underlying issue behind the 'abusive conduct' flag. We'd really appreciate your help escalating this.

Thank you very much!
