Rebates/cashback etc
Evening,
I just wanted to check about rebate schemes. Are we allowed to offer the full order total back to the customer. NOTHING to do with reviews, just to get sales started on a new product.
E.g. Facebook ad > “get this product for free” > Buy it on Amazon yourself and we’ll Paypal it back to you.
And as an extra layer, what if we offer MORE than the value of the product, i.e. free product and some cashback. Again, not in exchange for reviews, just kicking off sales.
USA seems to have services that offer this (Rebaid etc) but I haven’t seen one in UK, in any case it’s easy enough to setup yourself.
Thanks all

You would be on very dodgy ground, IMO, especially saying you would refund off Amazon instead of through the Amazon refund system.
Why not simply set the selling price extremely low to generate sales rather than risk your account by risking being accused of sales and review manipulation?
I don’t think this idea would be a very good one to adopt.

So order and pay on Amazon site, obtain a refund via paypal…then claim INR on the Amazon order and get a full refund from Amazon…looks like a great deal for the seasoned scammers?
Unless you manage any offers via Amazon site, you risk various problems.
Why not just offer an Amazon gift voucher with every purchase?

Offering free items on Facebook and then refunding Amazon orders through PayPal outside of the Amazon platform could be viewed as suspicious and a manipulation of the sales rank.
Why sell when you won’t actually sell anything and the only purpose will be increasing the sales rank of a new product?

Its odd because there are services that exist that do exactly this process.
I also read in a Facebook comment that selected top sellers have a rebate option appear in seller central itself right alongside ppc, vouchers etc.
Both the above seem to be USA, but I cant find any info relating to uk versions.
