CD Sales rankings advice please
Hello, i normally sell books and some dvd’s but in a pallet i just bought has a couple of thousand cd’s in with it.
my storage is a bit tight so i only want to sell ones that will go in up to 3 months (i will use the amazon price match to make sure they are the lowest price at all times)
is it worth keeping any thats more than half a million in the sales rankings?
cheers

I don’t sell CD’s, but a quick check with the Jungle scout tool shows that you will probably never sell them…

You mention books, so as a comparison the top 10% sales rank for books would be just over 2.3m, whilst for CDs and Vinyl it would be just over 407k.

Hi Demel
thanks for that, i usually only list books up to about 2m unless i can get over say £6 for them, most of my books are low cost stuff.
looks like cd’s up to around 400k then unless a fiver or more

I use the working assumption that anything in the top 50,000 has sold in the last day and anything in the top 200,000 stands a fighting chance.
Prices seem to have gone up by a ridiculous amount this year, so some things will have a lower ranking because the price is far too high and they are much cheaper on ebay or discogs.

Other sellers will just undercut you in turn so there’s no way you can guarantee you will be the lowest price…unless you intend to sell at a loss, that is.
There is still a (shrinking) market for niche CDs but as a rule, ex-chart CDs have to be all but given away if they are to sell here. There is tremendous over-supply.
