What is Sponsored Product Charge?

Hi I am still new to selling.

I am selling an item not as FBA but listing only on Amazon and I am positing it myself (MFN)

Fee estimate I was shown was only £1.51 pr item. So on 15 items sold it should be 15 x £1.51 = £22.65.

But the Amazon fees I am being charged are so much higher. I am not understanding it. I am being charged a total of £110.23 as a total fee which includes some sort of Sponsored charge. Why?

Net Sales £148.35 (sold 15 items @ £9.89 each)

Sponsored Product Charge £93.62

Referral Fee £16.61

Net Proceeds £38.12

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Sponsored Products is amazon advertising.

Have you setup any advertising campaigns?

Please Note also that the fees displayed by amazon are plus VAT assuming you are not exempt from paying VAT
