Amazon Auto Refunding 3 Months After Sale Date
Why is this a thing with Amazon and with no one else?
Customer orders in Month 1, Amazon Auto-Refunds in month 4.
When challenged on this, I get a response from Amazon saying basically "oh go on, please do it this once" ... why is this acceptable?
Anyone else able to relate?

Hello @Seller_isPVt9YIMfiCJ,
Thank you for posting on forums. I understand how concerning it can be when a refund is issued on an order months after the original sale.
Amazon's return and refund policies allow customers to request returns within specific windows depending on the product category. In some cases, refunds may be processed outside the standard return window as a one-time exception for the customer. While this can feel unexpected from a seller's perspective, these decisions are typically made on a case-by-case basis.
Steps you can take:
- If you believe the refund was issued in error or outside of policy, you can file a SAFE-T claim through Seller Central to request reimbursement. Navigate to Orders > Manage SAFE-T Claims to submit your case with the relevant order details.
- Review the specific order in your Manage Returns section to see if there's additional context on why the refund was processed.
- You can also open a case with our Seller Support team referencing the specific order ID to get clarity on the reason behind the refund.
If you have the specific order ID handy, I'd recommend starting with the SAFE-T claim route as that's typically the most effective path to recovering funds when a refund has been issued outside the expected timeframe.
Regards,
Billy
