New EU requirements for batteries

In 2024, EU Batteries Regulation is being introduced for all standalone batteries and batteries that are contained a product for sale in the EU and Northern Ireland. This regulation will require all eligible batteries to carry a CE mark and have an EU Responsible Person.

If you use Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) and are based outside the EU, you must provide your Responsible Person information by August 18, 2024, to avoid removal of your listing. In April, we’ll launch a tool for you to submit your information in Seller Central, which will be displayed on the product detail page.

As the regulation changes, your batteries must be compliant with all existing applicable legislation, including the General Product Safety Regulation.
