Invoice by Amazon KYC verification email - huh??
I have just received the below email from Amazon:
Your account has been flagged for missing required documentation for your Invoice by Amazon account verification.
Why is this happening?
We detected missing/expired documents from your Invoice by Amazon account. We expect sellers to stay compliant with program policy to avoid deactivation.
How do I address this issue?
1. To address your policy violation, go to the "Account Health" page:
https://sellercentral.amazon.com/performance/dashboard
2. Locate the "Policy Compliance" section.
3. Look for a red alert indicator next to "Other Policy Violations" and click it.
4. Find the relevant violation. You can do so by going to the "Open" tab. Locate the entry with "Invoice by Amazon" listed in the "Reason" column.
5. Initiate the appeal by clicking the blue "View Appeal" button next to that violation.
6. Submit the required documents listed in this email by following the on-screen instructions.
I have absolutely no idea why this has been sent to me - I don't believe I'm even enrolled in this service (except to the extent Amazon auto sends customer invoices?). Fundamentally, there is no red alert indicator within my Account Health dashboard - nor anywhere else in my account!
Has anyone else received this email? Grateful for any advice from anyone who has or from a mod. Thanks.

We had this last week.
The email said the alert would pop up within 24 hours and it did. I uploaded a passport as the documentation they required and a couple of days later they confirmed that was fine and the case was closed.

Ok but are you actually signed up to ‘Invoice by Amazon’ as I don’t believe I am? Where in our account would it confirm that you are signed up?

So today I now have the ding within my 'Other Policy Violations. The appeal states':
Address your violation
We have detected missing document(s) from your Invoice by Amazon account. We expect sellers to stay compliant with programme policy to avoid deactivation.
How do I address this violation?
Please choose an option for how you want to proceed.:
1) I understand the policy and acknowledge the violation - takes me to a screen to submit documents (unspecified which)
2) I understand the policy and have evidence or documentation to submit for review to confirm my compliance with the policy - brings up a box to explain If you believe that this violation was detected in error to provide an explanation
I am seriously confused at what I should be doing here? Amazon have had all my documents verified several times so I just cannot fathom why they're asking for them again as part of Invoice by Amazon.
Can a mod please urgently assist me with this verification? Thanks.

Hello @Seller_vPTlUYc5NALmW,
Thanks for reaching out about this Invoice by Amazon verification.
Invoice by Amazon is a programme that allows Amazon to issue VAT-compliant invoices to business customers on your behalf. Sellers who meet eligibility criteria may be enrolled automatically, which is likely why you're seeing this request even if you didn't actively sign up.
Regarding the verification itself, @Seller_0msMReDTskp1Y is correct that uploading a valid passport or government-issued ID through Option 1 ("I understand the policy and acknowledge the violation") should resolve this. Despite the wording, this isn't a "violation" in the traditional sense. It's a periodic document refresh to keep your account compliant with the programme's KYC requirements.
If you'd prefer to confirm whether you're actually enrolled in Invoice by Amazon before submitting documents, you can check under Settings > Account Info > Your Services, or open a case with Seller Support asking them to confirm your IBA enrolment status.
Once you submit the document through the Account Health page, it typically takes a few days for the team to review and close the case. If you run into any issues with the submission or don't see a resolution within a few business days, let us know and we can look into it further.
Best regards, Yujiro
