Royal Mail 'Special Delivery' code using OBA?
Hi, am I right in thinking SD1 is the code for Special Delivery when using the OBA system? I currently use SU1 for 24/48 parcels.
Also, is there anything else apart from adding a ‘Special Delivery’ label/sticker to the parcel that I need to do, like for example use a different coloured mail sack or label (that attaches to sack)?
I’m currently just using the normal 24/48 ppi stickers with occasionally one of the orange Royal Mail supplied ‘Signed-for’ stickers but with higher priced items I want to upgrade to Special Delivery
Cheers

SD1 is the code, my advice use click and drop for it and the label is then built in, it’s also much easier to keep track of

As Nathan said, SD1 is the right code, just be sure to use a RM24 sticker, not 48. As far as bags go, I think it’s supposed to go in a green sack, though I could be wrong. I’ve only ever used grey bags though and never yet had a problem

Thanks. Is it just the normal RM24 sticker (as in the standard type you would typically use for a low-priced order)? I have 2 types of RM stickers - standard in 24 and 48 and Signed-for, again in 24 and 48. I don’t use Click and Drop - looked into it but too much extra work (I have 30,000 individual titles (books), most only 1 copy of each title). And lastly - do you use a different tag to attach to the green sack?
Thank you. I have asked Royal Mail the above questions but remarkably they weren’t 100% sure!!

Thanks again for replies. I’ll order the specific labels. re C&D - I’ve had one of the most experienced field managers here to have a look at the job and also guide me through the process / set up. Even he admitted it would create a LOT more time and work than my usual PPI - weigh and average system. I’ve been spoilt with my current set up. I can process the postage for 200 items - weigh, bag, and produce manifest in less than 30 minutes!
