Best country to store inventory for EFN?
Hello all. We're a US-based seller that currently sells in the US and the UK. Pre-Brexit, we were enrolled in Pan-EU FBA and sold in the 5 major marketplaces (UK, DE, FR, IT, ES). Post-Brexit, we decided to pull back and only sell in the UK from inventory stored in UK distribution centers.
We're now planning to return to the EU marketplaces, but this time we want to store inventory in one country and fulfill orders via EFN to simplify the process. The question is: which country should we choose?
One option would be to fulfill from our UK inventory. Is that recommended by those of you that have tried it?
Another option would be to store inventory in one EU country in addition to what we do now. In the past, our best markets in the EU were Germany (1st) and Italy (2nd). France and Spain were a distant 3rd and 4th.
Our preferred shipper advises against Germany as they've found German customs challenging to deal with. So if we were to choose one EU country other than Germany to store inventory, which one would be best (i.e., offer the best combination of cost and fulfillment times via EFN to customers on the continent.)
Thanks very much.

Hi there,
I ship to France, if you are VAT registered they defer VAT payments which is nice, one less expense.
Germany you need to pay VAT on the actual selling price of the goods so it can be expensive - you can claim it back if VAT registered but I think its better to not pay at all hence why I use France.
