I am listing a retired history teacher's book collection or sale but for the two titles I started with I received a message that I must apply for 'brand approval'. I assume this is to check that I am not a dodgy seller palming off pirated copies, so I went through the usual procedure which has never been a problem in the past. However I received a request for a recent receipt for at least 10 copies of the book/brand from the distributor! Surely this is a nonsense? I have been selling books online for 15 years plus! Doesn't Amazon know the second-hand book market is growing faster than the new books market? I am happy to sell just through AbeBooks but students in the UK expect to be able to buy these books through Amazon! I believe this restraint of trade is actually illegal in the UK, but assume it is another 'inadvertent' error by Amazon's techies.

I just wondering if anyone was able to give me any advice with regards to packaging books as an FBM Seller. I've noticed that when shipping book orders using book mailers a lot of the heavier books seem to burst/split the book mailer and I'm concerned about orders arriving damaged to customers.

Just wanting to know does any ship heavier books in normal mailing bags/ bubble wrap or is there a set packaging standard that you need to adhere to in line with Amazon policies?

Just wondered if someone could offer some advice/thoughts please.

So I only sell used books on Amazon and last week I’ve listed some books for the first time in a few months. I know recently there has been a lot of changes with the adding products page and things constantly changing.

I got an email last night to say that one of my listings had been suppressed due to being a potential duplicate. First time I’ve ever had this and I’ve sold over 250 books in the past 12 months. Can’t understand at all what’s caused this issue.

I list my books by going to Catologue, Add products, product IDs I type in the ISBN and then it brings up a match for me to then start filling out SKU, Price, Offering condition etc.

Just wanting to know is this still the correct way to list used books? I’m concerned there might have been a change that I’m unaware of and want to make sure before sending any more inventory in.

If someone could point me in the right direction would be massively appreciated
