Answered cases cannot be reopened after 5 days with no activity. If you need help with an issue, please contact us

This timeline of permanently closing a case after 5 days is far too short.

I open a case for a listing issue and the response is delete the item. Wait at least 48 hours before relisting the item. Then allow 48 hours for the listing to list before contacting us.

Considering that seller support normally answer these cases while I'm sleeping, and that the process itself takes an absolute minimum of 4 days, the 5 day cut off isn't practical at all.

Should I be bumping cases every couple of days?

Does anyone else have this issue, and if so, what do you do?

Ive always had 24 hours rather than 48.

You should keep them informed. So send them a message when you have deleted the item, then you will have another 5 days.

Hello @Seller_1QPsxXzbv0YGj!

You're right that the timing can feel tight when the process itself takes several days. The 5-day window resets each time there's activity on the case, so the best approach is exactly what you're thinking: send a quick update to the case at each step (e.g., "Item deleted, waiting 48 hours to relist") even if you don't have a question. That keeps the case active and resets the clock.

@Seller_hnJy2He6uzeGX's advice is spot on. You don't need to wait for a response from support to keep the case alive, just a brief message letting them know where you are in the process is enough.
