Amazon Global Logistics

Hi Again

Just been pushed to explore the Amazon Global Logistics system.

Prices look up to 40% cheaper than our usual shippers which looks too good to be true!

Not sure if all costs are included as the quotes system is nearly a one liner saying Total cost = £…

Also, I am wary that our manufacturers will be found from the ‘powers that be’ using this method and this could then be used in the future to procure the same goods in competition with what we have spent considerable time sourcing.

Has anyone used this service and what were the pros and cons please?

Thanks!

Don’t worry about this. Amazon can find your supplier out just by buying your product. (I am 99% sure I could as well if I really wanted too).

If amazon wanted to know your supplier they’d shut your listing down and demand invoices to reactivate them

Fair points above - we have decided not to use them for this current delivery as it is a 40ft HQ and the storage costs whilst selling would negate any savings made in the shipping costs.

Also from what I understand you have the Amazon customer support to contact in case of any issues which we have found quite difficult to use in case of any issues.

Smaller LCL deliveries of single product items we may consider in future.

I have made 2 shipments with Global Logistics…complicated to say the least! One shipment has been picked up, how do I find the tracking number? Is there a Global Logistics help desk or email?

It’s was trialling booking in 3 shipments in Feb and March. Sea freight. So many files to submit and processes to go through. Make sure when you sign up to Global Logistics, everything has been filled in. But the Chinese team will email you and your supplier for missing docs.

Think next shipments will be easier now I know the ropes.

All 3 shipments, even though sent different dates, are actually due to arrive in port today! You have updates on the FBA shipment. Ask me again in a couple of weeks how it went.
But, if stock arrives, it is a massive saving, at least by sea. But I found by air, there’s not much difference…so we used our supplier’s carrier for air shipments.

Hi,

Thanks for the response on this

Any further updates, we have two containers a 40ft HQ and a 20ft to order from China and so far even with the price I am thinking this is a no go.

Also the shipping companies for the first time since the pandemic are now chasing me so it looks like prices are on the way down in quite a big way !? Our suppliers in China are saying all very very quiet.
