No longer able to sell popular books
I received an e-mail today stating:
“As part of our ongoing efforts to provide a great customer experience, we are implementing additional restrictions for certain popular products in the books category. Effective immediately you will no longer be able to sell certain popular books and your listings for these products will be removed.”
Did anyone else receive this? It affects 500 of my listings. What happened? Was it something I did or is this for all FBA sellers?

We are experiencing the same thing on our account, and are the publisher of the books we are selling, so really unsure what is happening and have not had much luck with support.

This has happened before in other categories.
Music for example.
A relatively small number of CDs and LPs were restricted in “certain popular music”. This was followed by ever increasing waves of record labels until a huge number were gated.
Amazon is deciding by broad strokes what should be gated. A 10 year old title is as likely to be gated as a current chart topper.

Interestingly, there are still 3rd party sellers selling books in all conditions on Amazon, so I wonder if this restriction is limited to accounts under a certain volume/history?
