Do you know what LPN Labels are?

Have you ever wondered what Amazon’s LPN label stands for? You’ll usually find an LPN sticker, which looks like a bar code, affixed to a box with a returned item inside.

LPN stands for “license plate number.” LPNs are unique serial numbers that identify specific items throughout the fulfillment process. LPNs help track inventory and shipments as they move through the supply chain.

LPN numbers are used to:

  • identify and sort return items;
  • track returns;
  • correlate returns from Amazon with returns from customers;
  • contact Amazon for reimbursement if items are damaged or lost.

LPNs can only be looked up by the merchant who sold the item. Sellers can use the LPN label to find information using the FBA Customer Returns report.
