Amazon Randomly Changing Lead Times & Limiting Shipping Options
I’ve noticed that for a short while now my ‘ship by’ and shipping options can change and there seems to be no logic to it.
For example, an order comes in, and it says ‘ship by X to Y’ but an order for the same item can come in right at the end of the day, and it says ‘ship by X’ (tomorrow).
Likewise with shipping. I buy through Amazon, but sometimes 2nd class isn’t an option, even though it should still make it well before the ‘deliver by’ date.
Is there any way to resolve this? I want a working day’s leeway in case I’m busy, something unexpected happens, or simply I want a breather.
It seems like these things are based upon a particular customer’s expectations, rather than what the seller wants.

Are you selling SFP or MFN?
If it’s SFP then it’s probably due to the cut off time for Prime orders. I didn’t think second class was ever considered fast enough for SFP though, so I’m guessing you’re MFN?
If you sell MFN then do you have same day dispatch set anywhere? If so, it will still be the handling time issue. For the second class post, you’ll have the issue of Amazon thinking the Royal Mail sort centre or DO for some post codes are experiencing delays so only first class or faster will arrive within the deadline.

Are they South East destinations you are finding need the sooner dispatch as you haven’t changed them back to being the same as other areas?
