So… I know this has been covered a lot in the forums and I have read a lot of the posts. But none of them give a definitive answers or suggestions. Let me break this down:

I’ve just started to sell new books (amongst other things) and the fees are prohibitively high, in my opinion.

here are the numbers:

*Sales price: £20.00 + Shipping: £2.99

*Sales Fees: approx £4.54.

This gives me a margin of around £2.20.

Amazon are literally making more gross profit from my sale than I am?! lol.

Anyway, is there something I can do to reduce these fees? I am a professional seller, so these fees are referral, digital and closing fees… or is this just the way it is?

My concern is that I am unable to promote or compete with the lowest prices available (which is, somewhat suspiciously, exactly the cost price, to the penny), and so will never be able to sell an amount to make it worth my while. Probably barely cover the cost of the subscription, I suspect.

I'm fairly new to Selling on Amazon and a little confused about the selling fees that I'm being charged.

I recently converted to Professional account from Individual selling plan and still being charged the 'Amazon selling fees' - every research suggests that I should only be charged £25 monthly, no matter how many items I sell while on Pro selling plan.

I reached out to seller team and they mentioned that 'Its referral fees' that I'm being charged but since converting to Pro selling plan - I'm still seeing the same amount being charged per item sold as I saw whilst on Individual plan.

Any tips/ advise or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I recently noticed an unusual refund on one of my orders and wanted to check if anyone else has experienced something similar or if Amazon has provided any explanations for this kind of issue.

I sold a product for £9.99 (including VAT), but Amazon issued a £94.98 refund for this single item. The order details show only one unit was purchased, and the refund amount is far greater than the total order value.

Order Value: £9.99 (VAT inclusive)

Refund Issued: £94.98

Product: Knee Pads

Shipping: Expedited via FBA

I have checked my Payments & Refunds Report, but I can’t see any additional fees or adjustments that would justify such a high refund amount. I’m also concerned whether this is a system error, a customer return abuse case, or if Amazon has automatically applied some additional refund I wasn’t aware of.

Has anyone else encountered a similar issue? If so, were you able to resolve it with Amazon support, and did they provide any explanation?
