GS1 GTIN-13 not working?

Im trying to list my first product on amazon using a GS1 barcode but the product ID number is apparently not long enough? I have GTIN-13 numbers which is what GS1 provided. Unsure what the issue is and how to solve it. Below is the error message it comes up with …

Value does not satisfy ISBN/UCCID checksum requirements for attribute ‘externally_assigned_product_identifier’. Value for ‘externally_assigned_product_identifier’ is shorter than the allowed minimum (14 characters).

any help will be appreciated
thanks josie

Hey SJ

Seems your trying to list books? correct me if I am wrong? GS1 barcodes are different from ISBN numbers and cant be used to list for books

For books, the correct product identifier is the ISBN. If the book isn’t already in the Amazon catalog, there is a procedure to create a new catalog page. If your problem is that Amazon isn’t recognizing the ISBN when you try to do this, that probably means that your ISBN hasn’t yet been registered on the Nielsen database, which is what Amazon rely on.
