Close my Seller Account
So, long ago, while checking Amazon seller accounts, i created one. For some reason amazon charged me 31gbp. I had no clue what i did wrong, but after sending 3 emails to their seller support without getting a single reply i though “oh well it’s lost”.
Since then i’ve been trying to close my Seller Account, but (it’s pretty obvious) i never managed to do so.
Every time i try, i get this message:
Account closure: Account balance
You have a balance on your account. Once you’ve received a final payment or charge and your balance is £0.00, you can close your account. The next settlement date is:GBP31,00 on June 28, 2018
My old bank account that was connected with my amazon seller account has expired, but i’m kinda scared to connect my new one, due to amazon charging me in the past without me being able to reach them after.
Is this amount (31,00gbp) being given back to me, or are they trying to charge me another 31,00gbp?
Thanks in advance

You need to first cancel the monthly subscription for a professional account (which you agreed to when you opened your account) you can do this from your seller account settings (account info) and change your selling plan from professional, to individual account.
It will still attempt to take the next due payment on 28th, but nothing further, to attempt to get a refund you will need to contact Amazon and explain you signed up to a professional account by mistake, but not listed, or sold anything and would like a refund, provided you had no sales, they normally refund you.
Once downgraded, no need to close your account unless you really want to as being on an individual plan, you only pay fees on items sold, just a slightly higher fee, but once you sort the monthly charge, you will then be able to close your account.

If you want to start using this account (which it sounds like you do) then you need to input your current bank details so your account is valid. This means that Amazon will take the £31 owing to them but if you haven’t sold anything at all then Amazon are USUALLY willing to refund it back, after a polite request. An account cannot be closed if there is money owing to Amz or a payment to yourself due.
By the way if you eventually close this account you will not be able to open another.
