Item moved from available to reserved

Hi All,

Need a bit of advice from experienced sellers. Sent in 17 Baseball Caps last week and all arrived ok and got listed on the site for sale and in stock. Paid for some social media advertisement (Twitter) to try and drive some sales. Checked the social media post this morning to see if it had any interest and clicked the link, but the caps are now showing out of stock. Had a look and shows reserved. Read a post on the forum to check why they are reserved and this is the reason;

Determine the reason for inventory in reserved status
Status: Requires additional investigation A Seller Support associate is looking into the status of the Reserved Inventory unit(s). No additional information is needed from you at this time. It can take up to 3 days to complete the investigation.

I also have the item duplicated in my inventory both with the same ASIN but different SKU’s, however both of these show 17 units in reserved stock?

Only thing I can think, I did message seller support as the storage came out of my standard sized storage allocation and not the clothing allocation even though they are in the clothing section of the website.

Do you think they are changing the SKU’s so it gets allocated to the correct storage reporting or could it be something else? The reason isn’t very helpful and the seller support case they’ve opened just says the same.

Thanks in advance

Andy

If you click the little down arrow key next to reserved in manage inventory it will tell you the reason, with it being a new received shipment they will be sending your stock to various different FC’S they will show in stock once they arrive at the allocated FC this is quite normal.

Can’t help on the duplicate sorry

Ok first, as soon as this issue gets sorted delete the duplicate SKU.
It is against Amazon’s terms to have 2 listings for the same item in the same condition (and same fulfillment method).
They’re both linked to the same ASIN, which is why the stock shows up for both of them. Don’t delete it yet as the case you opened may be linked to a specific SKU rather than ASIN.

It’s very possible that the reserve was placed on these items in order to change their storage type.

This happens very frequently when you have specific items that you really don’t want it to happen to…
case in point we shipped almost 1000 units of a Christmas-only product to FBA in august about 4 years ago, it went into reserve, transfer and every other status you can think of that stopped sales… it wasn’t sorted until the end of January… at which point there was no chance of selling them.
None of the other 1000+ SKUs we had at FBA at the time had this happen to them, just the seasonal one…
