This error appears when you attempt to create a new ASIN but don't yet have approval to list products for that specific brand, even if you have a valid GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) from GS1.

How to Resolve Error 5461?

1. Submit a Brand Approval Application

Your first step is to submit a brand approval application through Seller Central. Here's what you'll need:

  • Exact brand name as it appears on the product
  • Product identifier (UPC, EAN, ISBN, or JAN)
  • Clear, high-quality images showing:

-> The product

-> Product packaging

-> Brand name

_> Barcode

2. For Brand Owners

If you own the brand, make sure your Brand Registry account is properly linked to your Seller Central account. This connection helps streamline the approval process.

3. Wait for Approval

After submitting your application:

  • Processing typically takes up to 24 hours
  • Once approved, you can begin creating new listings for the brand
  • Keep checking your Seller Central notifications for updates

hi all, what do we do about customers that take the Mickey?

Customer stated parcel was not delivered. About £50 worth

Customer opened an a-z and was refunded.

Upon checking the tracking the parcel has been delivered.

I appeal the a-z and send proof of tracking and amazon denied the case.

What on earth is wrong with them? How hard is it to check the tracking which was provided on the order and on the appeal.

Any help appreciated

Hello,

Since 2022, we’ve been selling on 10 Amazon marketplaces, including the UK, EU, and US. We’re registered in Brand Registry as well.

In March, Amazon UK initiated a KYC verification process. I uploaded the requested documents correctly, but they were rejected, saying they didn’t meet the requirements. I tried about two more times with different documents, but they were all rejected as proof of address. In one case, I had to wait a full month just to get a response.

Eventually, I decided to go 100% by the book: I requested an official, letter-headed, English-language proof of address from my bank, which fully complied with Amazon's requirements. However, instead of approving it, Amazon immediately deactivated the account and rejected the appeal.

I contacted support and asked whether I could open a new account on the German marketplace. They told me that yes, I could — as long as I used a different email address. I followed their instructions and created the new account. One week later, that account was also deactivated, citing a connection to the original account.

I feel like I’ve done everything I possibly could, and I’ve run out of options. We haven’t done anything wrong. We haven’t broken any rules. We’re just a small European business trying to survive among giants. We’ve always submitted everything Amazon asked for, and now we’re completely lost — and I don’t even understand what went wrong.

Wherever I turn, I’m treated as if I’ve committed some serious violation, and that’s why the account was deactivated. But that’s not the case. It’s not even that I didn’t upload the documents. I did — and Amazon never even explained what exactly was wrong with the last submission.

By the way, we successfully passed the KYC verification on Amazon US.

Is there anything else I can do?

Does anyone know how to convert variation listings to FBM Prime?

We already fulfil orders ourselves, but without a Prime Badge. Whenever we research, it keeps coming up with the same convert to FBA, which is not what we want to do.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Is there a problem with RM Tracked 48 tracking?

None of my T48 parcels from Monday and Tuesday are tracking. None of the usual receiving and delivery depot scans.

The T24s sent at the same time are all being scanned as expected.

The issue started Friday and Saturday with no scans at my regional depot, but began to scan once received at delivery depots. At the time put it down the major electrical storm Friday night affecting RMs systems here.

My regional depot is Rochester, Kent.

A little concerning as a low volume seller this could put a serious dent in my VTR.

I have had zero violations on my account. I built this business by myself over 4-5 years and it has become my main source of income - so this is quite depressing.

Amazon requested me to send them documents proving I'm a UK established business that pays VAT. They never formally rejected my documents - they just kept spamming the same performance notification asking me for the same information over and over again.

About 3 weeks in, and after having about 3 phone calls with account health, it turned out that the address they wanted me to prove was my OPERATING address instead of REGISTERED address. I gathered as much evidence as I could since then (utility bills, commercial invoices etc). and sent it to them. Since then it has been a wild goose chase. I've had to send this information multiple times too, and to multiple email addresses (all of this under the advice of account health).

It has been 6 weeks since I sent the last bit of information they asked for and I have had no response. I have lost over £150K worth of sales and paid over £15K in storage fees in these 3 months. Every time I call Account Health they tell me all I can do is wait. The more I wait, the more I lose in storage fees. They refuse to give me any rough estimate whatsoever on when this will be complete - I could still be waiting next year for all I know.

This has just an extremely stressful and depressing past few months. I did nothing to deserve this - this is just Amazon refusing to look at the documentation and reinstate my account at this point. This issue has been escalated twice in the last week. 5-6 days ago I received an e-mail from the "specialised team" it has been escalated to telling me I'll hear a response within 72 hours. They have not responded.

I'm not sure what to do at this point. Do I just accept that the accounts gone? I can make a new company, new seller account, and pay another £15K or so to get stuff removed from the Amazon warehouse but it's always in the back of my head that by the time this is all done my actual account will be reinstated by then. It's a frustrating dilemma. Really seems like Amazon is just torturing me at this point. Has anyone been through anything similar? Any advice?

Has anyone noticed that Amazon are suddenly paying less for lost items?

I have just been reimbursed £40 for 3 units that would have sold at £180 in total.

Last week I got reimbursed £117 for 6 units that would have sold at £240.

I understand that the reimbursements are meant to reflect the net amount we would have received but these 2 seem very low.

Prepaid Label Exemption issues

Hi all,

We have applied a prepaid label exemption to all of our high cost inventory, but it seems that this is not being applied on the system, with our customers able to return using a courier of their choice?

I can't see anything wrong with the template I have uploaded, and it has been working fine until recently? I have tried re-uploading and same issue despite it working well previously.

For reference, we ship all our own products and provide our own customer service and have our own courier for returns in line with the rest of our business.

Have I missed something obvious? Is it not working?

Hello all,

For years I was using a cheap £40 HP printer to print my amazon FNSKU barcode labels. It largely worked but did have issues and so I thought I'd upgrade.

I print on A4 paper which has 21 barcode labels per sheet.

I then bought a Brother printer which was useless, and since then I have bought an Epson EcoTank which is even more useless! I'm so tired of these printers. The Epson was recommended as a good printer of labels but yet it jams so frequently.

Thermal printers are not an option for me for a number of reasons I won't get into.

I was just wondering and praying really that someone could recommend me a decent regular printer for this?
