I need your help and advice on a serious issue we have been facing.

A customer purchased a specific pair of shoes from us. We fulfilled the order correctly, and our internal records, pick list, and dispatch footage confirm this.

However, the buyer raised a return claim saying "wrong item sent" and returned a completely different pair of shoes, not even a model we sell. The returned pair was used and dirty. Despite submitting full evidence (photos, product catalogue, stock sheet, and return inspection report), Amazon refunded the buyer from our account.

We have submitted 16 appeals through the normal channels and keep receiving the same copy-paste response:

“Although we understand your position, we stand by our decision.”

We have asked for an escalation or human review, but there is no way forward via the standard appeal workflow. This is a clear case of return fraud, and it seems there is no protection for sellers in this situation.

Has anyone managed to:

Escalate these cases beyond the automated system?

Get a proper review done by Executive Seller Relations?

Recover funds in similar fraud situations?

Any insights or proven escalation routes would be hugely appreciated. I am also interested in collaborating with other sellers who face similar situations to raise this as a systemic issue with Seller Performance or through FBA Feedback Loops.

I’m reaching out for urgent help and a fair review.

We just had an A-to-Z Guarantee claim granted against us and it’s now impacting our Order Defect Rate (ODR) despite the fact that we did everything right as a seller.

Here’s what happened:

The buyer claimed the delivery driver stole the package (a serious accusation)

We asked for proof (such as a police report or any supporting evidence) but received no response from the buyer.

We tried multiple times to contact the customer to resolve this matter amicably, but they ignored us and instead went straight to Amazon.

Meanwhile, we opened a case with Amazon Support for guidance (Case ID: 11127978112) to ensure we were handling it correctly.

Despite our efforts and the customer’s refusal to engage, the claim was granted, and now our account health is at risk.

This feels deeply unfair. According to Amazon’s A-to-Z Guarantee Policy, sellers are supposed to be given a chance to resolve issues with the buyer but we were completely denied that chance.

We followed Amazon’s rules. We acted in good faith. And now we’re being penalised for doing exactly what we were supposed to do.

We’re asking Amazon to review this case thoroughly, including the full message history and our support case, and remove the ODR impact from this unfair claim.

If any Amazon staff see this, please help escalate the matter. And if any sellers have faced similar situations and found a way to appeal successfully, your advice would be greatly appreciated.

We have been trying to get our product unrestricted. We believe Amazon is wrongly categorizing our product as a life vest. We have 2 test reports from Intertek stating our product is a swimming aid (BS EN 13138-1 Buoyant aids for swimming instruction) and not a life vest. We are in a loop and keep getting the same answer every time we upload our documents, which is to provide the relevant documents. We are providing the relevant documents but they get rejected with no explanation to which document is causing the issue. We already sell an variation of this product that only differs in pattern design so this makes it even more frustrating. We just need someone to get this sorted out for us.

How does everyone ship? I am just starting off my Amazon business and my first shipment has a 50 days ship time with costs about £2k. the only other option was by truck and was £4-5k. I am concerned that I need the products to sell to reinvest and buy more product but a 50 day lead time on shipping might mean I sell out without any product being available for a while.

How does everyone else get around this problem. I would love to order tons of product but 1) I don't know how quick it will sell and b) I only have so much money to invest in the start up costs?
