I have set my Buy Shipping Preferences to 1 Hermes, 2 Royal Mail, 3 DPD using the options in Settings – Delivery Settings – General Shipping Settings - Preferences for (my business name) in Amazon Seller Central, but the Hermes UK Evri options I am getting (see below) are still greyed out in Amazon's Buy Shipping menu.

Hermes UK Evri Two Day - Drop Off

Not the preferred carrier in the carrier priority preference. Sat 03 Oct £3.46

Hermes UK Evri Standard – Drop Off

Not the preferred carrier in the carrier priority preference. Mon 05 Oct £2.46

Has anybody got any idea why this would be ? The deliver by date is Tuesday 06 Oct so both options can get there in time.

appalling service from Evri/Hermes
by Seller_ZVwYmP4h6VdwL
Amazon replied

Hermes notified a buyer of a book I'd dispatched with them that the book had been received it its Bolton warehouse but could not be found. They urged patience so he did not get in touch with me until a number of messages from them saying they are looking for the book. Finally they told him get ahold of me and request a refund. This, of course, is grossly unfair as both Hermes and Amazon had taken their cuts for facilitation and postage. I attempted from that point on to track the book or get a refund but this has launched me into a nightmare of circularity and no clarification or refund. I am happy to provide details (including Hermes' admission that they had received the book) but would ask that Amazon provide an alternative delivery service which takes responsibility for its errors.

Amazon Removing Hermes Buy Shipping Methods
by Seller_mj5cRWxMymq9N

Hi everyone,

I received an Amazon email saying some Buy Shipping methods will be removed from 15 October 2026 for Amazon Business orders.

Has anyone else received this notification? What alternative shipping method are you planning to use for UK FBM?

Thanks.

I agree too. The latest yuck for me - I had a 2nd hand audiobook on cassette listed, which is now banned, as Random House/ Amazon want all sorts of invoices. It was a present 20 years ago!

It's gone in the charity shop bag.

Well done with the videos.

Had a good few years on amazon but sales have now completely collapsed. Nothing changed and simply dont know why the sudden loss in sales. So we are closing the shop and solely replying on our own website. Has anyone else closed their amazon store and gone solo with their own website? We are sick of the continuous jumping through hoops, customers fraudulently making claims, bad service by royal mail, and the DD+7 payment disbursements. Its simply not worth selling on here. Cost of advertising is through the roof as are the fees. Anyone else gone through similar?

Hello Sellers and Amazon Moderators,

I am a new Amazon seller, and I urgently need help regarding my Valid Tracking Rate (VTR), which has dropped to 73.68%, putting my account at serious risk of deactivation.

The issue occurred because I mistakenly selected Hermes instead of Evri during shipment confirmation. As Hermes is the old name of Evri, I was not aware that this would result in invalid tracking defects.

Important points:

All tracking numbers provided are valid and fully trackable on the Evri website

All orders were shipped on time

The issue is only due to carrier name selection, not invalid tracking

I have already:

Updated all affected orders to Evri

Verified all tracking links are active and working

Contacted Seller Support multiple times

However, I was informed that:

The VTR report only considers the initial carrier selection

Updates made later do not change the VTR status

Because of this:

My old Hermes orders are still being counted as invalid

My VTR is continuously dropping

My account is now at high risk of deactivation

This is extremely concerning because the tracking is 100% valid, and the issue occurred only due to a new seller mistake and lack of knowledge.

I fully understand the policy now and confirm that:

I will always select Evri correctly going forward

This mistake will not happen again

I kindly request an Amazon moderator to:

Escalate this case to the Performance Team

Review and consider removing the VTR defects, as this was a genuine mistake and not invalid tracking

I would greatly appreciate any urgent support or guidance, as my account is at immediate risk.

Thank you in advance.

A-Z Claim for order that was not returned
by Seller_AyesGyWcEZ0pc

Hello

The returns was automatically accepted by Amazon. We do not have a Hermes account. Amazon is hermes courier not us. Why should we be contacting hermes when it is not our courier for the returns?

This a returns not us shipping out.

Why are we responsible for return shipping method when it is automatically accepted by amazon?

Hi all,

Hope you can help? I was deregistered for VAT on the 1st August this year and contacted Amazon straight away to inform them. They are now demanding a VAT number from me and obviously I haven't got one. I filled out all their forms yesterday but again when it came to the tax form it wanted a VAT number so I sent a screenshot of the message from HMRC saying that as of the 1st of August I will be deregistered from VAT but need to pay my VAT up to the 31st July 2026. It was a very basic message and didn't have my Vat number as it was sent direct to my HMRC messages.

Has anyone been through this? I'm literally pulling my hair out as I've been in business for 15 years and Amazon are saying I have 56 days to comply or they will stop my selling rights.

Hope someone can point me to some help. I spoke to an advisor for almost an hour yesterday and they said to fill out the form. AAArgh!

Many thanks

Sandy

Used and Return
by Seller_hnJy2He6uzeGX

One way to avoid this is to do retail standard packaging.

For example, if you buy something in a shop it should have tamper proof packaging. Similarly if you box or bag your item in tamper proof packaging, then when and if it is returned to Amazon, they may class it as unsellable and return it to you or refund you. Also perhaps put a tag on the product which would need to be cut off - this may deter a return.

It is not easy as so many customers across so many textiles platforms expect to be able to do this. You certainly need to build a healthy percentage return rate into your margin expectations.
