Fair pricing policy
by Seller_FdWKBkhV7283K

ok so I’ve banged on about this for a while now. Amazon really don’t seem to see a problem. I may have a book for say £10 which is unavailable on the platform. I get it taken down as too expensive. So I ask the question and apart from the usual I get this line.

The fair pricing policy is designed to protect the customer experience by identifying pricing that may be perceived as errors or unreasonable. When evaluating prices, our systems consider multiple factors including condition, fulfillment method, and comparison with similar offers.

So when I look there is a new copy for €20 delivered between the 25th-28th of November or alternatively there is an acceptable copy delivered later for a little more at €2000. Come on Amazon please don’t keep pulling the wool over our eyes. This guy has so many books at €2000 I wouldn’t be surprised if it was money laundering. Who in their right minds is going to buy it and why does he have so many at that money. Of course then mine that I’m trying to list at £10-20 are being withdrawn as being too expensive even though there’s not any others to compare the price against. Yes you’ve got them advertised for delivery 6 months away and every week the date moves so even in 6 months the delivery date is still 6 months away.

HI,

If you're VTR has slipped recently, this might be something to do with it.

I just received this email from the Amazon Services Team.

Hello,

Between September 16, 2025 and October 1, 2025, we experienced a technical issue that impacted shipment tracking of seller-fulfilled orders. These impacted orders didn't get registered as having carrier tracking scans. As a result, this impacted our measurement of some metrics which rely on carrier scan data.

We've identified the root cause of this issue, and will resolve it as soon as possible.

While we work on correcting this issue you may continue to see your account metrics reflecting incorrect tracking information, or you may have received an incorrect notification related to your Valid Tracking Rate. Please disregard these notifications and metrics while we fix the issue. Any orders impacted by the technical issue will not be considered for your Valid Tracking Rate evaluations up to November 20, 2025. There is no immediate action required from you at this time.

We sincerely apologize for the issue.

The Amazon Services team

This has certainly affected my business. We have many items saying delivered on Royal Mail, but Amazon are claiming the tracking is invalid. This has led to:-

1. Suspension from several product categories due to VTR being under 95%.

2. Increase in refunds due to Amazon sending out emails informing customers they are entitled to a refund as their package is late. Despite it already having arrived.

3. Any spurious A-Zs are automatically granted and refunded from us.

Hello TaylorR_Amazon,

Thank you for your message.

We have recently been using Buy Shipping, but we’re facing an issue. We previously emailed [address removed – Non-Amazon URL], but unfortunately have not received any reply.

Here’s the issue in detail:

We dropped off multiple parcels at our local post office and have receipts of posting for each parcel. However, there have been no tracking updates from Royal Mail — tracking only shows “update will be available after delivery attempt” (for 2nd Class Signed For items).

We currently have over 20 parcels that were posted around two / three weeks ago, and we have been issuing refunds to customers regularly due to the lack of tracking updates.

We have contacted Royal Mail, but they have not been able to help.

Could you please advise on what can be done in this situation or escalate the issue for further assistance?

Open Case ID: 11565930252

Status: Work in progress

Created: 26 Sept 2025, 16:18 GMT+1

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Smart Fashion

Sales decline
by Seller_IOPdfWw4Pw5RH

It has been a bizarre one for us too. From 20-30 sales a day all year to now 2-3 sales a day for October and now November. Only one thing I can think of was running out of stock for 3-4 days but we have sent in more stock yet sales are still awful. Could it be something to do with a algorithm update?

Hi everyone

I used Amazon SEND with UPS to ship a small parcel from the UK to the US (paw balm). The expected customs charge was around $20, but Amazon suddenly charged me $898 for “customs/brokerage” with no invoice or explanation.Has anyone else had Amazon charge such a high amount for SEND international shipments? How did you get this resolved?

Thanks!

What you wrote sounds good, but in reality, it's not. I've read that once the seller issues a refund, you can no longer file a T-safe claim. Firstly, and secondly, sales support wrote to me that I should contact EVRI and they will pay me compensation. From what I understand, it's a maximum of 20 pounds. Selling on Amazon is risky—I prefer eBay.

Amazon say this:

'When you use all of the below tools to fulfil an order or alternatively set a 0- or 1-day handling time in combination with SSA and Buy Shipping, those orders will have no negative impact on your OTDR. You’ll still be expected to ship on time and meet the account level requirement on late dispatch rate.

  • Automated handling time sets handling times at SKU level based on how long it usually takes you to process and hand over that product to carriers.
  • Shipping Settings Automation (SSA) sets transit times based on up-to-date carrier delivery performance from your warehouse locations to different customer destinations.
  • Buy Shipping helps you choose a shipping label for a service that can meet the Prime delivery promise to the customer.'

You're also fine if you ship fewer than 20 units within the 14 day window being measured.

What is your OTDR right now?

We send on average 20 large boxes of stock we manufacture ourselves every week, we've been with Amazon for 10 years, this is this first time whole shipments have disappeared. I think that says something

Here we go again.

Another A-to-Z claim, another fraudulent refund, another honest seller footing the bill.

Today’s masterpiece: a buyer with a billing address in Tanzania, but a delivery address to a UK freight forwarding company. ( we should have picked that up and cancelled the order but too busy)

They ordered two £4.99 packets of seeds, sent exactly as advertised via Royal Mail 2nd Class Letter — the same method we’ve used successfully for thousands of domestic orders.

Then comes the predictable message: “Item not received, refund me now.”

An A-to-Z claim is filed, and — of course — Amazon refunds them instantly. No investigation, no questions, no pause for basic logic. Just a full refund to a buyer clearly outside the UK using a freight forwarder.

How does Amazon not flag this?

A Tanzania billing address and a freight-forwarding UK delivery address should set off alarm bells the size of Big Ben. But no — Amazon’s system happily waves it through and blames the seller.

We process hundreds of these small packets every week, labels bought directly from Amazon, full proof of dispatch — yet it’s open season for scammers who’ve figured out how effortless it is to rob sellers here.

And at the end of the day, not only do we lose the product, the postage cost, and 20% of the commission, but Royal Mail actually becomes the final loser, since we file a compensation claim and they pay out £13.60 in stamps.

So the scammer gets their goods and their refund, Amazon washes its hands, and Royal Mail unknowingly foots the entire bill.

Another day, another scammer. Same story. Same silence.
