I am urgently requesting assistance regarding a recurring system-level technical issue with the "uk-18-knife" age verification attribute for our kitchen knife listings.
The Problem
Since July 10, we have received 74 duplicate performance notifications across 7 different ASINs, all alleging that our products lack the "uk-18-knife" attribute. Our products have been deactivated as a result.
We are fully aware of Amazon UK's requirements for selling kitchen knives:
*All products must be sold via FBA ✅
*The "uk-18-knife" flag must be uploaded via spreadsheet or product detail page ✅
We have complied with both requirements from day one.
What We Have Done (All Failed)
*Uploaded the product spreadsheet with full-update multiple times
*Edited each listing in "Manage All Inventory" and confirmed the age restriction setting
*Opened multiple support cases
*Submitted appeals via Account Health
*Each time we upload the spreadsheet, we receive additional performance notifications. The more we try to fix it, the more notifications we receive. We are stuck in a loop.
The Evidence That This Is a System Error:
For our older ASIN, the "uk-18-knife" flag is still visibly present on the front-end product detail page – yet the system continues to send notifications claiming it is missing.
For 3 of the new ASINs that have inventory in FBA, the flag is also present on the front end. For the other 3 new ASINs (currently in transit to FBA), we cannot observe the front end, but we have confirmed the attribute is correctly set in the backend.
This is NOT the first time. We experienced the identical issue in April–May 2026. After an extended process with Seller Support, the issue was eventually resolved manually..
Other sellers on this forum are reporting th exact same problem – the system fails to detect the "uk-18-knife" flag even when it has been correctly uploaded.
The Irony
Seller Support keeps instructing us to "upload the spreadsheet to update the uk-18-knife tag" – which we have already done multiple times. This is a circular response that does not address the underlying system failure.
Our Request:
*Review our case history and confirm this is a recurring system-level issue
*Escalate this matter to the technical team or internal review team – not to Seller Support (who keep giving us the same circular instructions)
*Help stop the repetitive automated notifications for these 7 ASINs
*Assist in manually restoring our products to active status
We are fully compliant sellers who have been selling kitchen knives on Amazon UK for a long time. This recurring system error is causing severe disruption to our business.
Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Hi Glenn,
Thank you for responding.
Unfortunately, this still leaves the central issue unanswered.
Amazon has confirmed the physical delivery of shipment FBA15M1KZP0X on multiple occasions:
• The Shipping Queue shows the shipment as DELIVERED.
• Shipment Events show Delivered – 18 July 2026.
• The tracking information within Seller Central shows the parcel delivered in Northampton on 18 July.
• Selling Partner Support specifically confirmed in writing that “shipment ID FBA15M1KZP0X was delivered on 18th July” and that it had been delivered to the fulfilment-centre facility yard.
You have now stated that Amazon’s investigation determined that Amazon did not receive the units expected on the shipping plan.
The important point is that the units Amazon says it did not receive are the entire contents of this shipment – all 114 units across all 12 SKUs.
Therefore, Amazon appears to be confirming that the parcel itself was delivered to Amazon, but none of the 114 units inside that parcel can be accounted for.
Can you please clarify what Amazon believes happened to the physical parcel after it was delivered?
Specifically:
1. Is Amazon saying that the delivered parcel was empty?
2. Is Amazon saying that the parcel was damaged or opened when received?
3. Is Amazon saying that it contained products different from those on the shipping plan?
4. Or is Amazon simply unable to locate the parcel or its contents after delivery?
Telling us to review our “prep and labelling with the carrier” does not explain this. The carrier transported the shipment, and Amazon’s own systems confirm that it was delivered.
If Amazon has evidence showing that the parcel arrived empty, damaged, incorrectly labelled or containing different goods, please provide that information.
Otherwise, could you please escalate this for a review of the physical receiving trail after the confirmed delivery, rather than simply repeating the previous reconciliation decision?
There is also an inconsistency in the previous Amazon response which says both that the shipment was delivered on 18 July and that it was delivered to the fulfilment-centre yard on 8 August. Could you please clarify that discrepancy as well?
Thank you.
I am trying to close my seller account through the proper process, but the closure is being blocked by one unit of FBA inventory that I cannot locate anywhere in Seller Central.
My automatic removal setting is set to "Disposal". Since July, Amazon's system has automatically created more than 60 disposal orders for this unit — sometimes almost every day.
Although these orders appear as completed, all records show that ZERO units were disposed of and one unit was cancelled each time. Amazon's system then continues creating another disposal order for the same invisible unit. This cycle is still repeating as of today.
The main problem is that I cannot see this unit anywhere in Seller Central. It does not appear on any inventory page or in any downloadable inventory report. Even Amazon's Seller Central AI assistant cannot locate it. However, Seller Support insists that one unit still exists and has told me that it will prevent me from closing the account.
We opened a support case on 27 August 2026 and have followed up repeatedly, but the issue remains unresolved until today. We have only been asked to continue waiting.
I am not requesting reimbursement or compensation. I simply need Amazon to investigate this invisible inventory record, dispose of or remove the unit, and clear it from the system so that I can close my seller account normally and avoid further ongoing losses.
In the meantime, I am forced to wait for an unknown outcome whilst continuing to incur costs.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem? If so, please tell me how to resolve it.
I would be deeply grateful for any help.
Case IDs: 13245770992 (consolidated attribute case, 5 to 7 business days), 13247572152 (reserved inventory, ticket "in pending state"), 13248449402 and 13248547152 (FBA hold and release requests), 13244836832 and 13243730752 (Brand Registry, sent to the specialised team).
What happened
On 5 September 2026 the catalog changed is_expiration_dated_product to Yes and product_expiration_type to Shelf Life on three of our ASINs without any submission from us. Our listings still say No and Does Not Expire. FBA moved 690 UK units into Reserved (FC processing) the same day and the offers are stranded as Listing error. Sales have been zero since.
The products are electronic devices with a lithium-ion battery. Not topical, not consumable, no expiry date, no shelf life. Two other devices of the same family, same product group and product type, are correctly marked No. All ASINs, FNSKUs, box photos and manufacturer documentation are already in the cases above.
What Amazon has already confirmed
Brand Registry (Amal J., case 13243730752) has written that the values "were set by an automated system, likely because your product is categorized under the Beauty category, which this system flags broadly" and "are therefore incorrect". Brand Registry (Kushbu D., case 13244836832) has confirmed the attribute "is currently managed by an automated system, which means it cannot be updated through our standard tools" and has sent it to the specialised team that manages it. Seller Support (Nami P., case 13245763742, 9 September) wrote that the attribute "is currently managed by an internal Amazon system and requires a specialized catalog team", consolidated everything into case 13245770992 and quoted 5 to 7 business days, which would be the third week with zero sales. In FBA case 13248547152 Khushi R. wrote that cases 13245770992, 13244615612, 13245826832 and 13244352822 "have been assigned and are in progress", but declined to place a hold on disposal or release the units. On the US account the same issue is confirmed as "an incorrect system flag" and "a known system issue" with an FBA escalation ticket (US case 21942949471).
What we have tried
Resubmitted the attributes through the Listings API and by hand, opened attribute cases (refused with the topical products template), and changed product type and browse node. Nothing released a single unit. Automated unfulfillable removal is set to Return to seller.
What we are asking
Could a community manager please escalate cases 13245770992 and 13247572152 so the flag is removed and the 690 units are released, and confirm that nothing will be disposed of while the ticket is open?
Thank you.
Hello Moderators,
I am writing here as a last resort because our account validation process is completely stuck in a loop, and standard Seller Support channels have stopped responding to our open cases. We are facing a critical deadline and need a moderator to escalate this to the internal compliance/verification team.
🚨 The Issue:
Our account (KESEM TRADE S.R.L., based in Romania) is currently deactivated due to incomplete Know Your Customer (KYC) verification. We spoke with the Account Health team, who initiated an internal review and stated we would be able to supply our updated documentation within 72 hours.
However, it has been well past that window, and our dashboard under Settings > Account Info > Identity Information remains hard-locked with a red "Verification Failed" banner. Because of this state, the portal is completely locked down - there are absolutely no upload fields, "Change," or "Submit" buttons available for us to provide the files.
We must complete this KYC process urgently to clear our DAC-7 tax information requirement before the strict August 16, 2026 enforcement deadline.
📄 What We Have Ready:
We have worked extensively to ensure our compliance documents are 100% airtight and ready for a manual review:
Statute Document: A single combined PDF containing our official Articles of Incorporation (Actul Constitutiv) paired with a fresh ONRC Extended Company Extract (Certificat Constatator), explicitly verifying the company name, registered address, 100% sole shareholder name, and business activities.
Registered Business Address Proof: A recent gas utility bill (ENGIE) where the company name, billing address, and physical consumption/service address all match our Seller Central registered address exactly (Piata Sfatului no. 12 Ap. 3, Brasov).
🛠️ What We Need:
Because Seller Support is not responding to our emails, we need a technical reset on our portal. We need our identity section forced back into an "Information Required" or "In Progress" state so the document submission widgets reappear.
Case ID for Reference: 12947467202
Could one of you please look into this case and escalate it to the European KYC specialist team to force-open our document upload capability? We have all compliant documentation sitting in our files ready to go.
Thank you for your urgent help,
Tom

Hello,
I need help with a UK VAT Establishment verification that has been open since 20 August 2026.
Our company is UK-established. Our business information and UK director have already been successfully verified, and there are no VAT/GST registration numbers on our Seller Central account because we are not VAT registered.
However, Amazon still treats our account as Non-Established and has been collecting VAT from every UK order since 21 August.
The specialist case remains under review with no clear explanation of what is still outstanding.
Could an Amazon moderator please review this case or escalate it to the UK VAT Establishment / Tax verification team?
Thank you.
@Seller_hgJm5OoaarBh4
I understand how concerning this must be — particularly since Amazon has been collecting VAT from your UK orders since 21 August, which directly impacts your revenue and pricing.
Let me help clarify what's likely happening and what steps you can take:
Why Amazon may be collecting VAT on your orders: Under UK VAT legislation, Amazon is required to collect and remit VAT on behalf of sellers who are deemed Non-Established Taxable Persons (NETPs) in the UK. If your VAT Establishment verification is still under review and hasn't been completed, the system defaults to treating your account as Non-Established — which triggers Amazon to collect VAT on your sales, even if your business is genuinely UK-established.
The good news is that once your UK Establishment status is successfully verified, this should be corrected going forward. Regarding the VAT already collected during this period, you may be able to reclaim it — but I'd recommend consulting with a tax advisor on the specifics.
Steps to help move this forward:
Open a new support case in Seller Central specifically categorised under Tax / VAT and clearly state that this is a UK VAT Establishment verification issue, not a general VAT registration query. Reference your existing case and the date it was opened (20 August 2026).
In your case, emphasise the following key points:
Could you please share your current Case ID? This will allow us to have a closer look at the status of your verification and provide more targeted guidance.

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for experience and advice from fellow Amazon sellers stuck in the Verification required for tax purposes pending review. This is a widespread account compliance review affecting the majority of sellers currently.
I submitted all complete and valid business documents on August 25, 2026. My review status has been pending for over 15 days, with 40 days left until the compliance deadline.
I have contacted seller support multiple times for updates and escalation. The consistent reply is that Amazon is facing severe internal review backlogs, and no manual priority or acceleration is available for individual seller cases.
The current fixed deadline policy is very rigid. All review delays stem from Amazon’s internal processing backlog, yet sellers face strict account compliance deadlines with no official grace period.
This issue brings significant operational risks. I have large volumes of FBA inventory in transit. Failure to complete the review on time may lead to sales restrictions, fund withholding and blocked inventory reception, causing unnecessary financial losses for compliant sellers.
Nearly all sellers I know are facing the same long-pending review situation. I would really appreciate it if you could share your review progress, timeline and any effective solutions in the comments.
Thank you all for sharing and helping!

The "Verification required for tax purposes" review is part of Amazon's ongoing account compliance programme in the UK marketplace. Amazon is required to verify seller business information and tax documentation to comply with HMRC regulations (including obligations under the Finance Act and Online Sales Tax / VAT compliance frameworks).
As you and many other sellers have noted, this review cycle is affecting a large number of UK sellers simultaneously, which has resulted in significant internal processing backlogs on Amazon's side.
Why the Delay
Based on what sellers and Seller Support have consistently reported:
This is not a reflection of any issue with your submission — it is a capacity and volume challenge on Amazon's end.
What You Can Do in the Meantime
We understand the frustration with the rigid deadline policy. While Amazon has not officially announced a blanket grace period for this review cycle, it is worth noting:
Thank you for your patience, and we hope your verification is completed well before your deadline.

Hello Amazon Community Managers,
We need help with an incorrect organic classification affecting ASINs:
B08XZJ41YC
B09KCL7FLN
QH-Z2YW-5K4G
Product Compliance Case: 13190208802
Catalogue Case: 13202798802
We have resubmitted our appeal, but this issue has remained unresolved for over a month.
The products are not organic, are not marketed as organic, and the listings contain no organic claims or wording. Evidence of the packaging and products is attached.
However, Amazon is displaying “Organic Inspection Body Code: LU-BIO-04” under Regulatory Information, which is triggering the organic certificate requirement. This attribute cannot be removed through the listing.
Could @Seller_lmwzklfLOK2Ob please review Product Compliance Case 13190208802 and Catalogue Case 13202798802, and escalate this to the appropriate Product Compliance/Catalogue team to remove the incorrect LU-BIO-04 attribute and resulting organic certificate requirement?
We've been unable to restock for a month.
Intial Appeal: 3rd Aug 2026
Thank you for your help.
