Hi everyone,

I urgently need advice from experienced sellers and, if possible, assistance from an Amazon Forum Moderator / Amazon representative who can escalate this internally.

We experienced a severe unintended pricing error on one of our FBA listings. A 3-pack product was mistakenly made available for approximately £0.15, which resulted in a sudden wave of orders, including customers ordering unusually large quantities such as 9, 12, 20, 27, 29 and 30 units.

We identified the problem very quickly and took action to prevent further orders.

However, because these orders are Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA), we cannot manually cancel them.

At the time we contacted Seller Support, the affected orders were still showing:

Pending – Awaiting Payment Verification

Amazon's Reserved Inventory page is now showing:

Status: Pending Customer Orders

138 units are being used to fulfil customer orders.

This is extremely concerning because the orders resulted from an obvious erroneous selling price and we are trying to stop fulfilment before these units are dispatched.

We have already contacted Selling Partner Support multiple times and specifically requested escalation to an internal FBA/Fulfilment team capable of reviewing the situation.

Our existing Case IDs are:

Case ID: 13178765082

Case ID: 13178848982

Case ID: 13177033592

One response stated that first-line support cannot cancel pending FBA orders while payment/order verification is taking place. We understand that sellers normally cannot cancel FBA orders ourselves, but our request is specifically for Amazon to investigate whether an internal team can intervene because these orders resulted from a severe pricing error and have not yet shipped.

If an Amazon moderator sees this, I would be extremely grateful if you could review the above cases and help escalate this to the appropriate internal team as soon as possible.

Also, if any sellers here have experienced a similar situation — particularly an erroneous price followed by a large number of FBA orders — I would really appreciate hearing what happened and whether Amazon was able to stop the orders before dispatch.

Time is critical because 138 units are currently reserved against Pending Customer Orders.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Hello Sellers,

If you fulfil your own orders on Amazon.co.uk, two metrics on your Account Health Dashboard deserve your close attention: Late Dispatch Rate (LDR) and Valid Tracking Rate (VTR). These directly affect your ability to sell through the Merchant Fulfilled Network — and when they slip, the consequences can be swift.

For this event, we also invited an experienced seller to provide you with real, actionable insights. Please welcome seller @Seller_d8YGbIjNqwFxn!

This post breaks down what each metric measures, why it matters to your business, and how to stay on the right side of the thresholds.

📉 Late Dispatch Rate (LDR)

What it measures: The percentage of seller-fulfilled orders where shipment was confirmed after the expected dispatch date, calculated over rolling 10-day and 30-day windows.

Threshold: Must stay below 4%

What happens if you exceed it: Your seller-fulfilled offers may be deactivated.

Common triggers:

  • Confirming shipment after the expected dispatch date
  • Delayed carrier collection or first scan
  • Inaccurate handling time settings in Seller Central

Why it matters: Late dispatch confirmations mean customers can't track their orders on time, leading to increased A-to-Z claims, negative feedback, and contacts to customer service — all of which erode your account health.

✅ Valid Tracking Rate (VTR)

What it measures: The percentage of your shipments with a valid tracking number that Amazon can verify through carrier scan events, calculated over a rolling 30-day period.

Threshold: Must maintain above 95% (at product category level)

What happens if you fall below it: Your seller-fulfilled sales in that category may be restricted.

Common triggers:

  • Using a carrier not integrated with Amazon
  • Entering incorrect tracking information or carrier name
  • Confirming shipment after the parcel has already been delivered
  • Tracking ID not generating a valid scan

UK-specific exemptions — these shipments are NOT counted towards your VTR:

  • Cross-border shipments below £20: Shipments to and from Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Austria, Sweden or Belgium below £20 (including shipping, excluding VAT) are exempt from VTR if shipped using a “letter” method.
  • Untracked Royal Mail 1st and 2nd Class Letter stamps and franking are exempt from VTR if purchased through Amazon Buy Shipping (at no extra cost).
  • Digital products such as audiobooks.
  • Self-delivered shipments (that is, shipments that are delivered using your own logistics).

🛡️ Best Practices to Protect Your Metrics

  • Check your Account Health Dashboard weekly — don't wait for a warning notification
  • Use Amazon-integrated carriers such as Royal Mail (tracked services), DPD, Evri, Parcelforce, or Amazon Shipping to ensure scan events are received
  • Verify tracking details carefully — select the correct carrier name from the drop-down and double-check your tracking ID before confirming dispatch
  • Set realistic handling times — if you can't consistently dispatch within your stated window, adjust your settings in Shipping Settings
  • Consider Amazon's Buy Shipping service — labels purchased through Buy Shipping automatically reduce VTR defect risk and provide integrated tracking
  • Dispatch and confirm before your cut-off — ensure your carrier collects and scans parcels on the same day you confirm shipment

Had an email this morning stating our account has a 30 day hold put on it so we cant disburse whilst they check delivery of seller fulfilled orders! We buy all our post using amazon buy shipping. Spoke to amazon rep and he said its nothing to do with an account health or violation we have just been selected randomly!! I said we buy all our post using buy shipping as we are meant to be protected from this sort of thing. He said send a picture of the amazon buy shipping labels and invoice. I said the buy shipping is automatically taken from the order cost! He seemed to not heave a clue. All our stats are on 0% with all order dispatched on time and we send 1000s per week and no account issues. And now this is our peak season our funds will be put on hold which will definitely make us go bust. 30 days without funds!! can anyone give me any advice as to what to do. He said I can appeal and send pics of the buy shipping labels? Does that sound right?

Case ID 13175837152. Your colleague stated I needed to state ALL our orders are sent using amazon buy shipping royal mail 2nd class untracked small letter post that YOU offer as an option for delivery therefore tracking cannot be provided. That is why we emailed many of our recent customers asking for confirmation of delivery. Again this was requested by your seller review team and we provided the screenshots of buyer confirmation and then we get another response saying provide tracking for ALL THE PAST 30 days orders and upload tracking. We are going round and round in circles.

Your colleague therefore state just tell the review team all our orders are fulfilled using amazon buy shipping 2nd class post. We now wait for a reply on this from the review team. The stress this has caused having two reviews in the space of a month simply for selling more due to our peak season just doesnt make any sense whatsoever. Especially as we have been selling on here for years and have perfect metrics.

Dear Maria,

Thank you for your reply.

Regarding the tracking number and postcode, we understand that the carrier’s website only retains tracking data for 30 days. Since your review took place after this period, the tracking information may no longer be accessible online.

However, we have kept the signed proof of delivery and the shipping label as part of our records. Please find these documents attached for your reference. We kindly request that you review these files as valid evidence of successful delivery.

Please let us know if you need any further details.

Best regards,

jiangfen001

refunded order after 7 month
by Seller_wUU01kBOwvNzv
Amazon replied

Hello,

I noticed that the order was placed on 23/12/2025, and the refund was processed on 30/07/2026.

order id:205-2432124-0219554

Could you please help me understand how a refund was issued more than seven months after the original order date? I would appreciate it if you could explain the reason or policy that allowed this refund.

what can i do best

Thank you for your assistance.

1 day dispatch
by Seller_d8YGbIjNqwFxn

One thing to be aware of in the announcement is this

Starting on 1 September 2026, if an SKU’s handling time is one or more days longer than your actual performance for more than 30 days, we’ll enable Automated Handling Time for those SKUs to make it easy for you to offer faster delivery promises that reflect your actual performance.

So if you have your handling time set to 2 days but are consistently despatching it 1 day or less then Amazon will automatically change your handling time to reflect this. So if you are adding the handling time as a buffer for late delivery this may not work.

Read this thread, esp the help from @Seller_hOZNPw7G8FIjl

Following her advice I managed to change all listings to two day dispatch all within 30 minutes worth of work (10k plus listings)

1 day dispatch
by Seller_d8YGbIjNqwFxn

As you probably know I sell the same type of products as you. I am different though in that I offer same day despatch if brought before 16:30. My On Time Delivery rate is currently 98%.

Here is how I do it. I use Royal Mail for all my items. I use SSA for my shipping templates. Letter and Large Letter post is brought through Amazon which has no impact on my OTDR if delivered late.

Tracked post is brought through Click and Drop. I no longer used tracked 48 on Amazon as this is not always delivered on time and impacts my OTDR. I now only used tracked 24 for Amazon items.

Amazon do need to do some work on 2nd class post with the new delivery model Royal Mail are rolling out. However many issues are with Royal Mail who constantly don't deliver within their delivery aim for 2nd class post.

Have you run your defect report to find out which items were delivered late and how they were sent?
