Hello,

I need help with a UK VAT Establishment verification that has been open since 20 August 2026.

Our company is UK-established. Our business information and UK director have already been successfully verified, and there are no VAT/GST registration numbers on our Seller Central account because we are not VAT registered.

However, Amazon still treats our account as Non-Established and has been collecting VAT from every UK order since 21 August.

The specialist case remains under review with no clear explanation of what is still outstanding.

Could an Amazon moderator please review this case or escalate it to the UK VAT Establishment / Tax verification team?

Thank you.

@Seller_hgJm5OoaarBh4

I understand how concerning this must be — particularly since Amazon has been collecting VAT from your UK orders since 21 August, which directly impacts your revenue and pricing.

Let me help clarify what's likely happening and what steps you can take:

Why Amazon may be collecting VAT on your orders: Under UK VAT legislation, Amazon is required to collect and remit VAT on behalf of sellers who are deemed Non-Established Taxable Persons (NETPs) in the UK. If your VAT Establishment verification is still under review and hasn't been completed, the system defaults to treating your account as Non-Established — which triggers Amazon to collect VAT on your sales, even if your business is genuinely UK-established.

The good news is that once your UK Establishment status is successfully verified, this should be corrected going forward. Regarding the VAT already collected during this period, you may be able to reclaim it — but I'd recommend consulting with a tax advisor on the specifics.

Steps to help move this forward:

Open a new support case in Seller Central specifically categorised under Tax / VAT and clearly state that this is a UK VAT Establishment verification issue, not a general VAT registration query. Reference your existing case and the date it was opened (20 August 2026).

In your case, emphasise the following key points:

  • Your company is UK-established with a UK-registered business address and UK director — both already verified.
  • You are not VAT registered (below the VAT threshold), hence no VAT/GST numbers on your account.
  • Despite this, your account is being treated as Non-Established and VAT is being collected from your UK orders since 21 August.
  • Request a clear explanation of what documentation or information is still outstanding to complete the verification.
  • Ask specifically for the case to be reviewed by the UK VAT Establishment / Tax verification team, as general Seller Support may not have visibility into the status of these specialist reviews.
  • Keep a record of all VAT amounts collected by Amazon during this period, as you may need this for any future adjustment or reclaim.

Could you please share your current Case ID? This will allow us to have a closer look at the status of your verification and provide more targeted guidance.

JiAlex

Hi,

I’m hoping an Amazon moderator/community manager can help escalate an FBA shipment issue which Seller Support does not seem to be addressing properly.

Shipment ID: FBA15M1KZP0X

Case ID: 13188088612

We sent Amazon a shipment containing 114 units across 12 SKUs.

The carrier confirms that the shipment was delivered to Amazon on 18 July.

More importantly, Amazon itself has also confirmed delivery. The shipment summary shows the shipment as delivered on 18 July, and the shipment events also record delivery on that date.

Amazon has since provided us with a list of the units it says were not received.

The problem is that the 12 SKUs Amazon has listed are the entire shipment.

In other words, Amazon appears to be saying that zero out of the 114 units were received, despite Amazon’s own shipment records confirming that the consignment was delivered.

We have therefore repeatedly asked Seller Support one very simple question:

“Is Amazon stating that ZERO of the 114 units in shipment FBA15M1KZP0X were received?”

We have now asked this several times and have received essentially the same stock/template response three times in succession, without that question being answered.

This is not a normal discrepancy where one or two units are missing from a shipment. Amazon appears to be unable to account for 100% of the contents of a consignment which Amazon itself confirms was delivered.

What we are trying to establish is very simple:

Did Amazon receive the shipment but fail to receive/process any of the 114 units inside it, or is Amazon saying something else happened to the consignment after delivery?

At the moment we cannot get a direct answer.

Could an Amazon Community Manager please review case 13188088612 and escalate this to the appropriate FBA receiving/reconciliation team?

I am happy to provide screenshots of the repeated responses, proof of delivery and any other relevant information privately if required.

I would also be interested to hear from other sellers who have experienced an entire FBA shipment being delivered but none of the units being received into inventory.

Thanks in advance.

As a UK seller, you do have the ability to apply a restocking fee when addressing returns.

A restocking fee is specifically prohibited under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (CRA):

"Under the DMCCA, it is a criminal offence to mislead consumers about their legal rights.

The following are examples of statements that are likely to mislead consumers about their rights:

no refunds given

goods can only be exchanged

only credit notes will be given against faulty goods

sold as seen

returns are subject to a restocking fee (for example, 20%)"

Please do not encourage sellers to break the law.

On 20 July 2026, we’ll remove the seller eligibility requirements for the Featured Offer for sellers in the EU and UK. No action is required from you.

Currently, we determine which sellers are eligible based on seller performance criteria. As we've continued to improve our processes and hear feedback from sellers, we determined that this eligibility step is no longer required, so we're removing it.

We're not changing how the Featured Offer is selected. We'll continue to evaluate offers and select the Featured Offer based on criteria most important to customers, such as competitive pricing, delivery speed and performance.

To review the new policy, go to Changes to programme policies.

As always, our goal is to help you and all selling partners continue to succeed with Amazon and grow your businesses around the world.

And, after over 20 years, it's time to go.
by Seller_VSGPEORb4yGqN

When I started on here, you could pretty much list anything you wanted (within reason). The biggest problem back then was the lazy seller who did the minimum amount of work to put up the listings.

Then Scamazon started asking for information about where we were getting the products, and you could not get a listing done without giving them a supplier. They were just stealing information from sellers for their own ends (something Amazon are brilliant at).

Christmases were incredibly busy (and profitable). Until they weren't. The year they introduced PPC was a disaster. I spent everything on stock for the busy period, only it didn't come. I was left with thousands of pounds of stock, rent, business rates... bla bla bla.

Next was the cut-out the middle man stage where the suppliers stopped supplying us because they were selling directly on Amazon. All these companies who we had bought from and made successful just screwed us over.

Anyway, the changes keep coming, none of them good for sellers, always good for Amazon.

I'm utterly sick of it. Sick of all the Amazon supported scammers, sick of waiting 3 weeks to get paid, sick of all the stress.

I wish all you good, honest, hardworking seller all the best, but I'm not giving this dishonest, morally bankrupt company another penny, or a second of my time.

Goodbye!

:-)

after reading all this your issue is EVRI if its damaging your ldr why are you still using them get rid you need the first scan when its collected or dropped off its your responsibility to ensure the timely dispatch if you print a label and its not getting scanned for 24hrs its late!!! 20 years of dispatch has taught me 1 thing make sure its scanned at collection or drop off ego with a courier that scans every parcel onto the van and you ldr wont be rubbish and asking amazon to look into issues you are responsible for isn't the way to go you come across as not very pro-active to resolve this as i would have binned evri like i did 2 years ago and ive not looked back since tbf royal mail tracked 24 and 48 is better tracked service and my metrics are great on every platform we sell on because of timely dispatch and getting them first scans on the parcel when its collected

'Brand Approval '' for second hand books
by Seller_AlYpsVHv0gj21

Thanks for that Brian. I did not know of the existence of that page. It makes very depressing reading seeing all the brands I am barred from.

As you say there are some anomalies. I seem to have applied to list H.M.S.O. books 3 times over the years but have been rejected every time. I do ,however, have about 20 or so booklets by the Ministry of Ag and Fish (published by HMSO) listed. I dont know how I got them through the net!.

In the long run the situation is going to be completely untenable .

A few days ago I noticed on the last page of my inventory about 20 books marked "missing information". I have had no message about the removal of these 20 books(all have them were listed a few years ago). I think that what has happened is the the original lister was somehow "dodgy" and that listing has been removed and mine has gone with it.

Can I just add my concerns that the Chat system now in use is not fit for purpose.

I have had a simple problem with a SKU that Amazon won't let me send in to FC's because of incorrect error messages (which Amazon have agreed is a fault at your end)

But I must have wasted over an hour with unnecessary 'Chats' - each time is like starting afresh, with a different operative who is unfamiliar with the case - you have to sit around for 20 minutes until they catch up and invariably pass you along to someone else to start over again.

It's rubbish - please stop with this 'chat' nonsense

That's interesting.

VHS videos were probably my best selling items until about 18 years ago. I had about a thousand titles listed but I am now down to less than twenty.

I was fairly Amazed to sell one last week. It was originally listed about 17 years ago and as far as I can tell, I had the only copy listed on Amazon in all that time. I emailed the buyer to check that they really wanted a VHS video and luckily they replied that they did.

I long ago dumped all of my videos that have subsequently been released on DVD. My remaining videos are all quite rare and not available in other formats but the demand is practically non-existent.

After that unexpected recent sale I dusted off my video recorder to test play my last few VHS offerings.

I know there has been a resurgence in vinyl and, to a lesser extent CDs and cassettes, but VHS video...?
