Making FBA a full time job

I agree with that!

Personally I have been doing this for about 5 years now while having 9-5 job all these years.

Started on eBay during COVID, then moved to Amazon with FBM first, then FBA.

Over the years I have found several distributors and built very good relationship with them, which helped to grow my business.

Last year I stopped doing eBay - because of their ridiculous policy of no fees for "private sellers there, I just could not compete there. And eBay was taking 80% of my overall time with only probably 10% income.

eBay account is still there "in case", but genuinly stopping selling on it was biggest time saving decision ever.

So these days it's only FBA.

Will I ever quit my salaried 9-5? NOPE

Over the years with Amazon:

They held my disbursements in January 2024 asking me to prove I was resident in UK for tax purposes. This while having my VAT all the time, all documents etc. Took me to go to TV station and complain to Small Business Commissioner literally to get Amazon move their a** and unblock funds

They threatened to block my account due to one inauthentic claim from one customer - while my distributor was telling me that Amazon did actually call them, and they did confirm that invoice and item on it were valid. Took escalation to MD office to get it sorted

Every month they find some ridiculous issue with some of the ASINs - compliance, IP, market recall, Brand name change, disappearing discription - list goes on

I am switching to Ltd company soon to limit my liability exposure as sole trader, but will never rely on FBA for main source of income.

I am sorry but the feedback system needs an overhaul and let me explain why.

People are incentivised to leave negative feedback when they are unhappy we all know this and all businesses want to avoid this. However, happy customers dont bother unless ecstatic or they are inventivised to do this, we have all seen the leaflets inside packages from some sellers which clearly breach amazon ToS, yet nothing seems to happen to these companies ? I have reported them time after time and its the same.

Even when your fulfilment centre have the products and can easily check ? they dont.

So it then ends up being a negative show, the only ones who are incentivised to leave feedback are bad.

So explain to me if I sell a product and sell 400 of them.

If one customer is unhappy and leaves a negative review how is that right ? as 399 have been fine, if they had not been I guarantee you we would know about it ?

eBay now after 90 days if someone has not left feedback marks it as 5 stars.

As they get it !!!!!

Amazon sadly dont seem too.

Then when you appeal feedback the system is wrong. I have a 3 star review on my seller profile.

Someone has bought an item and then left three stars because wait for it, "there was not a rubber seal with it"

So lets break it down. The images show the exact items for sale, there is NOT A RUBBER SEAL IN THE PACKAGE, its now shown there, its not expected (well apart from this customer !!)

Its like me buying a tv remote and leaving a 1 star review, "bought this tv remote, didnt get a tv with it, disapointed".

Well no, you wont get a tv as it was never included.

Will seller support remove it ? NO, apparently even though it was not included, it was not mentioned it was not pictured and not part of the sale, I should have magically included it.

Sadly its getting worse and worse for feedback on Amazon

Unfortunately SS are never going to be able or want to fix this. They are doing their job in reinstating and it needs someone from much higher up in the chain of command even than the MODS to take notice of this issue and get a team to look at it unfortunately thats not really in amazons intrest as as long as a product sells they get there money and our inherently not intrested in the profit of their (customers) sellers. You lose money on an item so what we have still made our fees and until such time that 90% talk with their feet and move their inventory elsewhere this will continue to happen and anyone who has invested in the FBA route does not have the choice to make the move.

Unwanted advice but redistribute your eggs invest in your own website sell on others sort a distribution hub out cause amazon are not likely to change in the short term until everyone moves away and that aint gonna happen as there are always more com ming in to fill the gap and maazons grip on the market place is just too strong.

Standard support seems to be stuck in a "manual restoration loop" that only lasts for a few hours. This proves that there is a deeply-rooted Data Mapping Error in the algorithm that needs a human override to permanently unlink.

Xero have a "Simple" plan. The price is £7/month (£0.35 for first 6 months). You'll find it UNDER the pricing of the main plans at www. xero .com/uk/pricing-plans/ (remove spaces).

Haven't managed to get it to connect to HMRC yet as when I looked it was more about submitting VAT reports (when I'm not VAT registered), but it says it is MTD ready.

I use Advigator to manage my ads. I'm on a very limited budget and this helps maximise my usage. I think it used to be listed in the app store, but I can't see it. It's just advigator dot com. Might be worth a look.

3. Solicite o encerramento

  • No Seller Central, vá em Configurações → Informações da Conta
  • Role até a seção "Fechar Conta" ou "Encerrar Conta"
  • Siga as instruções na tela para confirmar o encerramento
