ANOTHER QUESTION IN RELATION TO FBA 'AMAZON RECOMMENDED GROUP PACKING METHOD'

Sometimes when we're packing we realise we don't have inventory of all the units which we had originally put onto the original shipment (sometimes we don't have say 20 units out of 3000 units). But we can't just amend the shipment as that'd lead to Amazon's system re-working the group inventory splits which would require us un-packing and re-packing everything so far.

Right now, we just enter in Amazon's system that we sent them (so we don't have to re-start from fresh with the packing - but that's far from ideal for both us as a seller and also for Amazon).

Is any option coming to allow sellers to small adjustments to group pack shipments once they've been created (perhaps even just an option to remove units)?

Remove brand name from title
by Seller_iZL0ysZFrLJmN

I am handmade ( or should I say, was handmade). I also have a trademark for my Brand, but I often put my Brand name at the end of my listing - same reason as you have stated - the product is far more well known that a small handmade business Brand.

I've tried to amend one of my products which didn't have my brand name in it.

It completely removed the Brand from the title. When I look at the title of the product in my inventory, it shows my Brand in first place in the title, but when I open the page, it doesn't show - EXCEPT when I look in my top bar on my computer (ie the bit you would normally see the name of the site you are visiting - and then the Brand is showing as if it's there first before the product.

So, here's an idea of what is showing for one of my products:

In my Inventory: "Lesley H Phillips Handmade Recycled Sterling Silver Square Necklace – Textured & Gift Boxed - Made in Dorset Jewellery"

What shows on the product page : "Handmade Recycled Sterling Silver Square Necklace – Textured & Gift Boxed - Made in Dorset Jewellery"

Top Bar on my computer is the same as what's showing in my inventory.

What I have in my title when I am in edit mode: "Handmade Recycled Sterling Silver Square Necklace – Textured & Gift Boxed - Made in Dorset by Lesley H Phillips Jewellery"

So, as you can see it has completely removed my Brand from the end and taken out the "by Lesley H Phillips" - leaving the Made in Dorset Jewellery.

This looks to me as if it's forcing us to have our Brand name at the front, but I can amend other bits of the title.

I do have other listings which don't change at all when I try to edit them, so I leave them alone as I can't face the merry go round of SS.

At one point straight after the transition, if I went into a listing to do anything - the very next day they kept saying the first image on the product wasn't white background images - they were....but not one of the pictures were showing. In my inventory the products were showing as search supressed. I then had to upload every single picture on the product again as if I only did the first one, the others just didn't show, even though they were showing when I went into 'manage images' .

After this happened about a dozen times, I gave up amending anything. Thankfully, this seems to have been sorted by Amazon now as it was getting beyond a joke.

ChatGPT says -

For Amazon listing images, the goal is maximum zoom quality + consistent presentation, not just compliance. Given your photography prints and frames, here are the best practical specs.

The best aspect ratio

1:1 (square)

Example:

2000 × 2000 px

3000 × 3000 px

4000 × 4000 px

Square images:

display best in search results

centre properly on mobile

avoid cropping

work across all Amazon placements

This is the current standard.

The best image dimensions

Minimum for zoom:

1600 px on the longest side

Recommended working size:

2000–3000 px

Ideal for your products:

3000 × 3000 px

You’ve previously worked at 4000–5000 px for Etsy; that’s fine, but for Amazon:

3000 px square is the sweet spot

My recommendation for your catalogue

Use:

3000 × 3000 px

sRGB colour

JPEG

This gives:

reliable zoom

fast loading

consistent display

future-proof resolution

DPI does not matter

Amazon ignores DPI.

Only pixel dimensions matter.

So:

72 dpi

150 dpi

300 dpi

All behave the same.

On Amazon getting 6 feedback for 3000 sales is quite high it would be utterally appalling on any other sales channel. For myself I get one feedback for approx 1800 sales if that feedback is negative it has a devastating effect and gives a very misleading interputation of my account.

I have even had customers on other sales channels report my Amazon page to me as a cloned account they have sent me messages saying look some rip off merchant is trying to pretend to be you as they looked at the feedback on the other channel and saw perfection while on Amazon multiple complaints od which 95% of the complaints were for items sold by other people but the customer left for us they would privatly apologise for the mistakes but Amazon would refuse to remove them

There's a quite simple fix to this problem and so many other listing problems encountered by Amazon sellers.

The solution is to give all sellers their own shop and listings to look after just the same as eBay do, AND GET RID OF THIS ANTIQUATED CATALOGUE SYSTEM.

Over 20 years of eBay membership and having thousands of listings not once have I had a listing title or photo changed or the description messed about with, EVER.

Since we started on Amazon 10 years ago we got to a peak of almost 3000 listings, this has slowly dwindled to around 300. We've had to remove 90% of our offers due to changes made by others that we can't fix due to Amazons systems or intransigence. Also we can't add to our offers as Amazon has made it virually impossible to list new items.

eBay arn't perfect, far from it, but once we make a listing on their platform we can forget about it untill it sells out, whereas on Amazon it's just one long worry thinking what will happen tomorrow and the endless checking we have to do.

same here I had a customer put in a return request as she wanted a different colour even though there is no colour she was instantly accepted to return the goods she refused and demanded a full refund and we told her she needed to start the return process and she would be refunded in full again she refused and put in an AZ claim which was of course automatically granted I contacted her again to say she needed to return the goods that are now unpaid if not I would be forced to report her to Amazon I waited 3 weeks and asked have you started the return was ignored so I reported her to Amazon which resulted in me getting a violation which I cannot get removed and I will not be accepting fault when I was the victim of a theft.

Only on Amazon can somebody openely steal from you and Amazon rewards the thief and punishes the victim it is due to incidents like this that I do not list anything over £40 on Amazon even though I have access to goods worth up to £3000

@Seller_d8YGbIjNqwFxn For how many brands did you have restrictions? How long did it last?

I still have 96 brands deactivated since 21.03 with 3000 units stored at FBA

Funds on hold
by Seller_pqb8OEzxik1f1

I recently started selling on Amazon. After a week, I have been removed from the account stating that my details could not be verified despite sending all required documentation multiple times.

After attempting to contact Amazon numerous times, automated messages back is the only correspondence I have had.

Now, all my funds are on hold which is causing significant financial issues for me as this is in excess of £3000.

Please can anybody advise if this has happened to them and if anybody knows how this can be rectified.
