It's like the restock inventory change. Before, I never ran out of FBA stock because the old version was simple and clear.

Now, I'm always running out of stock because it's just so confusing.

Well at least it looks modern and keeps the uni grades in a job!!!

Check out our order 205-1724885-1633134 that went to an A to Z which we lost.

it all the modern day proof-of-delivery methods (photo + GPS + timestamp + tracking) yet it was denied, appealed and still denied.

We proved beyond all reasonable doubt that the package was delivered but just on the fact that it was a large letter that was delivered through the lettebox there was no signature.

Amazon will only act on a signature which in this day and age is defunct

No used book sales in 2 weeks
by Seller_mxez2L8QjE6WW

Selling 2nd hand books on Amazon gets more difficult by the day. On the one hand you've got the likes of WoB, Awesome/Infinite, & other megas driving prices for the more modern stuff down to bottom, and many more people have been listing their books. On the other hand, Amazon makes it almost impossible to add new items with demands for 'brand' approval to list a 40-year old book & so on. Not to mention that the catalogue is in such a mess that I'm surprised anyone ever finds anything. And now BookFinder, which many people use to locate a book, often does not show the listings on Amazon, & is generally worse than it used to be (am I being paranoid, or has Amazon taken over BookFinder?).

Thank you for your reply.

Even though you say: 'Amazon's interface was designed for traditional signatures, and modern proof-of-delivery methods (photo + GPS + timestamp) now provide equivalent verification that works effectively with Amazon's protection mechanisms'

A-Z Claims do not seem to realise this. You lose an A-Z Claim unless you have a traditional signature, even if GPS and photo provided as proof.

Also, where is the tick box to show on a signed service, other than Buy Shipping 1st/2nd class letter post, the others do not show such. Eg Royal Mail Tracked 24 - it does not have a separate box to be ticked when added signed for service used.

Making FBA a full time job
by Seller_KlbXZHzQGSDZv

As stated Amazon is the biggest marketplace and if you want to use your own website asa backup you need to find a nieche market something that people will be happy to come back to.

These days with the spread of items you need to have 100's if not 1000's of items on here to get a sucessfull return then with modern receipt requirements that can be a very heavy investment to make. I think gone are the days of finding na item and trying to sell 1000's of it and only that.

As stated in the other comments look into other market places ebay you can use amazon fba on iirc or something similar maybe look into that for the other shopping channels such as shopify tiktok ETSY(if you meet there requirements) and see if you can get amazon to do the shipping for you.

Hi @Seller_IQo80d99W2DzP,

I am Arish from Amazon Seller Community team. You're absolutely right that the delivery landscape has evolved significantly since COVID.

Regarding the checkbox in Confirm Shipment: Amazon's interface was designed for traditional signatures, and modern proof-of-delivery methods (photo + GPS + timestamp) now provide equivalent verification that works effectively with Amazon's protection mechanisms. The key benefit remains - when you indicate signature confirmation was used, Amazon's investigation team performs additional buyer account checks and makes claims eligible for appeals. Keep records of your delivery confirmation type - if claims arise, you'll have strong evidence.

If you encounter any issues with this specific order, please raise a case with Seller Support and share your Case ID here for follow-up.

- Arish

I may have accidentally discovered a new branch of physics inside Seller Central.

Order details:

Purchase date: Mon, 26 Jan 2026, 10:51 GMT

Ship by: Thu, 5 Feb 2026 GMT

Fulfilment: Amazon

Shipping service: Standard

Sales channel: Amazon.co.uk

Order payment released: 20 Mar 2026

So unless I am misunderstanding modern logistics, this appears to be an FBA order that existed before the stock had fully arrived, shipped sometime inside a time tunnel, and only collapsed into a payable state nearly two months later.

At this point I think Amazon is no longer using normal retail metrics.

It is using quantum retail mechanics:

  • inventory can be sellable and not yet received at the same time
  • orders can be both dispatched and still theoretically pending
  • payment remains in a Schrödinger state until observed several weeks later
  • “ship by date” may refer not to shipping, but to an alternative dimension

I am not even complaining at this stage.

I just want to know whether this is:

  • standard FBA behaviour
  • warehouse lag plus metric lag
  • catalogue/inbound sync issue
  • or Quantum Amazon Retail, where cause and effect are now optional

Has anyone else seen FBA orders appear in a way that suggests the unit was already buyable before inbound processing had properly caught up?

I used to think FBA stood for Fulfilment by Amazon.

Now I think it stands for Functions Beyond Arithmetic.

Hi.

I get your frustrations, but i do feel Amazon have evolved

We started (in another company I owned) about 16/17 years ago on Amazon, at the time anything sold, we bought barcodes from ebay sellers, it was easy...

Then covid hit, wow, what a boom time

For now: Amazon have moved to more of a branded platform, which has forced us to evolve.

Since we have or own brand, we have to do do vine, we have to pay for videos and pay for A+content, but these are deal breakers

My question to whoever is doing our listing, would you have confidence in the listing over a competitor to buy the product from us. We learnt from the Chineese thir listings are really good

I think sometimes we can get stale in business, there are so many modern tools to make life easier, from AI for infographics, to the likes of A2X for accounting. 16 years ago we had graphic artists working for us, we had full time book keeper, most of those expenses have gone, so it has evolved but it has its challenges

I personally would reccomend people to use FBA, I have learnt over the years, it really takes the stress away. Customers have more faith in delivery, so sales are higher, businesses buy as they get an autoated Vat recipt

Margins may be lower, but you can go away without worrying........ Its a different life

Good luck

Nathan
